TOPIC: Another few projects on Routemaster's Bench

Another few projects on Routemaster's Bench 1 year, 1 month ago #1

Currently I am awaiting a few spare parts and decals, so no finished restos to show here. That gave me the chance to dive into the TO DO box and I came up with a few more projects that I have started working on today:
  • The Dinky 289 Routemaster: this one is going to be a code 3: The Dinky Routemaster in the pale blue livery with the special decals
  • Tekno 826 FordTaunus 17M, currently a bad repaint. I shall try painting it in a pale blueish grey, just got to mix the colors
  • Dinky 958 Guy Snow Plough. As usual the plough is missing so a code 3 is coming soon. Just have to decide on the color scheme
  • Dinky 343 Dodge Farm Produce Wagon. Some work on this one, as the stacks are bent

So keep on checking my posts for updates

Do as I have done for a customer and turn your snow plough into a 431 or 432 Flat deck or box deck. Get rid of the tipper and the plough. The roof light is already gone so then you just need a flat deck and some putty to fill the holes. Deck is probably cheaper than the plough blades and you will have to find them on ebay or elsewhere as they are not reproduced. Here are a couple of examples.

431

Used to be a Snow Plough

Another one Before, going to be a 432

After. These are some of the hard to find colors.

A few more photos. This weekend the weather was okay for some painting.I was a bit dissapointed with the color on the Tekno Ford, it looks like an army green, so that is going to be another paint job. It has to be blueish grey

What did I tell you, easy fix. nice work. Yours will look better than a couple of mine have as the plough mount was torn out of the ones I did, not dissassembled like your is. Nice work on all the models shown. The bus is a great color and should work for your project.

Thanks guys,

this evening I stripped the Tekno Ford and the complete Dodge farm truck for I was not happy with the colours after the paint had dried. The first layer of primer already applied an hour ago

I painted the snow plough cab and base orange, the back needs a new tailgate and I think I paint it blue

How is this little project coming along Theo. Would like to see what you have done with the snow plough.

I am working on it, but have little time this weekend. Tomorrow there is the RAI exhibition that I have to attend (shall make some photos there) and today is a birthday party on the beach, so have lots to organise and do today.

And I have to do some serious metalwork on the Guy and the DS so I shall not rush into things that I regret afterwards. Have to get my thinking cap on over the next week or so

Please be patient the things that follow are soon to be seen here

Take you time and you will be pleased. The wait is always worth the final results. Good luch at the fair tomorrow. Sell lots of your toys.

Thanks Jim

The RAI fair is not a sales fair, but a fair where truck manufacturers show their new trucks and vans. We, the NAMAC, have a stand where we display our beloved scalemodels only, they are not for sale (certainly not my Routemasters )

A customer of mine GAMBAKKER transport has given me a very very nice 1/50 scale Volvo truck and trailer. That one is for sale, for 150 euros only it is a very limited edition

So a lot of 1/1 trucks are on display. I have my camera and 2 full battery packs with me so I can show you all out there some nice photos

Oh, Okay, I get it now. You should get some nice pictures then. Don't forget to take a few pictures of the NAMAC Table too.
