TOPIC: Donor horse box

Donor horse box 2 years, 10 months ago #1

I have had a Chipperfields Horsebox for restoration well over two years now.

What I needed was the pinrivet to hold it together and two doors.

(horses missing too, but there\'s no hurry)

A couple of weeks ago paid way too much for a fairly complete but badly overpainted horsebox trailer. It also came with a badly repainted Big Bedford.
The seller said it was a good restore project and that it was the correct truck. As I wanted it desperately for the parts only I didn\'t argue the issue that it was the wrong Bedford. I can always use one of these for the Carimore\'s.

The donor arrived and noticed I could use the axle for another project (see the detach post).

As my first horsebox was in better condition with its stickers intact it was obvious which was the donor and which one was the restore project.

to be continued...

Didn\'t do anything major that hasn\'t been shown in these pages before. A quick repaint of the trailer and the removal of the silver paint off the doors, primed and doublecoated red.
Just need to repaint the truck as soon as the weather clears a bit.

Thanks James,

These Chipperfields are hard to collect, but fun to restore. Was tired of losing these on auctions. All I need is one.

Got a spare door though.

Got the yellow/green version coming too.
