Hi Lads n lasses

I have recently been busy doing a GS 7 Daktari Landrover and thought i would show it here. The whole design is done by waterslide transfers that i sat for hours creating. And i have to admit it was a nightmare but turned out OK in the end.Anyway here it is.

It still needs the tiger on the bonnet so if one of you kind peeps have one spare please PM me.

Also i had a customer send me a Dinky Atlanta plane and was pleasantly surprised at the outcome. The tinplate was covered in rust and when i stripped it found there was some fatigue.

Thats it for now.

Kev

Nice work, as usual and it is  nice to see the plane. I have one coming my way for restoration and it also has rust on the wings. I may be Pming you about the fatigue bit. Won\'t know til it gets here.Decals on the Landy? I would have thought it would have been much easier to just paint them on and then clear over.

Yeah i thought about that but then decided i am no artist and would have more than likely messed it up \"lol\".

I even thought of using some sort of detail pen but for the same reason decided against it.So i decided to recreate the stripes using pics from the Web .It was a time consuming task but well worth it in the end. They are not 100% but as you can see they done the job..

Try using water based acrylics. If you screw up, you can clean it up with a small sponge before it dries. Saves me a lot of repaints. The decals look great on there, lot of effort and it shows in the finished project. How did you handle the fatigue on the plane?

Well Kev, regardless of wither you painted them or did the decal thing you did a great job. I bet it took some time to get the stripes just right but in the end, like you day, they do the job. And quite well too. Good one.

Yes it was quite time consuming but worth it in the end.

RE: The Fatigue......................I just rubbed it right down until it was smooth and used jb weld to fill in the holes and create a layer over it.It might not stop it rearing its ugly head again in the future but it should prolong it for a lot longer.
