Here's where you can discuss all general diecast stuff - mystery items, ask who made a model of a particular car, ask for info about an obscure manufacturer or chat about anything else related to vehicles smaller than 1:1 scale!

There are a number of vinyl car producers that made a Ford Mustang Fastback

It could be:

Stelco nr. 18 (scale appr. 1/56)
Miniflex nr. 9
NP nr. 4
MiracleMart nr. 11 (should have chrome-coloured detailling)

Hope this helps

its none of those this ones made of soft rubber like tomte as for stelco and NP there more like a harder plastic and there fastbacks , this ones the coupe version

I collect those makes too and its neither of those, i do have a vw beetle by the same maker and im pretty sure ive also seen a Land rover and a Fiat by this company.

was just thinking that.

only have two Tomte-Laerdal clearly marked. A Toyota S2000 cabrio (24) and a Renault Floride Spider (6). My Peugeot cabrio has no markings except the number (10). They all have the same generic wheels like that mustang.

Does the Mustang have a number on the chassis. Will look like 5mm size Times New Roman script

does your peugeot look like this one, this is Tomte the number 10. the number is under the passenger seat then the cross brace above says tomte leardal and the cross brace beneath says stavanger norway yet some are not so clear to read

if it is the same then the wheels are a different style to the mustang. there are absolutely no marks or numbers anywhere to be seen even had a magnifying glass to it

Peugeot only has the number 10 under the passenger seat. Nothing else.

I remember these rubber cars very well from my childhood. They were everywhere, not just in toy stores, but also in small kiosks (particularly popular at the beaches)

Back then, I never noted any brands, but surely many must have been Tomte. I do believe, though, that some were local danish issues (the rubber cars seems to have been a very popular scandinavian thing)

So if this car can not be identified, my best guess would be that it's from a small scandinavian maker. The Mustang looks familiar somehow, but not enough for me to say that I've definitely seen it before.

I've had a few when I was very young in Holland, and I vaguelly remember holidays to Sweden and Denmark. Might've picked up a couple back then.

The three I currently have collected in NZ or from feebay in bulk wins.

These are the countrys  that made the following

Tomte Laerdal - Norway

Galanite - Sweden

Stelco - Germany

NP -Germany

Plasto -Finland

Miniflex -Hong Kong

Miracle Mart - Taiwan

Imperial Toys - Hong Kong

Vinylline -Germany

Irwin Toys - USA

Auburn Toys - USA

Im fairly sure my Mustang was possibly made in Hong Kong but this is just my opinion and i could be very wrong, only time will tell , I hope.

French collectors don't have any answer no more...

Re: who made this ford mustang 9 months, 1 week ago #13

... but they ask me for a wheel close picture.

They say wheels are often brand's specific.

Re: who made this ford mustang 9 months ago #14

here we go Corky. They look very similar to Miniflex but they are not identical and the ends of the axles are also different.
