Here's where you can discuss all general diecast stuff - mystery items, ask who made a model of a particular car, ask for info about an obscure manufacturer or chat about anything else related to vehicles smaller than 1:1 scale!

Me too, Spot-On is a quite recent collection I've started a few years ago.
However, I find that I have too much competition even for the wrecks. It may be easy to find the Cresta in the British Isles, but the former colonies its near impossible.

Thanks for showing, there are a few I have never seen before. The NSU is great

I agree: Spot-On are great, but very near impossible to get (doesn't help that most of them are in Great Britain and many sellers don't ship abroad)

I've managed to get 3, the first was by far the best, bought on danish auction-site Qxl as one of my very first purchases back in 2010. The photos were very dark and blurry, description was no better, so it was more or less a gamble and most were unwilling to bid... as a result I won it for appr. £13 including shipping!

My 2nd purchase came from a UK web-shop where it was 'just in'... I always wanted an NSU Prinz IV in my collection, but found that very few makes have it, and they're all very expensive. With that in mind, I found the price tage of appr. £15 (incl. shipping) to be quite reasonable.

My third and final Spot-On (so far) was yet another #193 NSU Prinz IV. This one was part of a huge lot containing mostly junk, but also a few interesting items like this one, a Dinky Pontiac Parisienne police car and a Corgi Bantam "Joe's Diner". The left headlight is missing and there's more paintwear than on the previous one. Nevertheless I still quite like it, and it's also a different color than my other one.

That's all I have to contribute with. I love seeing your collection, surely I'll never be able to match that.

My Spot-On Tri-Ang collection is a bit tiny. Only have a LWB Land Rover, Austin A60 Cambridge and a partially restored Renault Floride.

On layby and currently still in London (unless he's moved again) I'm awaiting a Spot-On Tri-Ang Land Rover Fire Dept. vehicle, Triumph TR3, and a beige Austin A60 Cambridge

This is the first time I've seen such large numbers of Spot-On together. They really had some nice models. One thing I find particularly interesting is how, due to Spot-On's strict adherence to the 1/42 scale, you can really see the difference in size between cars... just look at the NSU Prinz IV next to the Humber Super Snipe Estate.

What glider are you refering to Richard? I don't see one here.

Re: Spot-on Toys - Collection 1 year ago #12

Platinum Boarder
nickname for the Austin/Morris 1100/1300 was 'Glyder'.
If you go by the list of these models its: Mini, Glyder, Maxi, Landcrab and Tasman.

This has been a useful excercise for me in allowing to document what I have, I was surprised how many doubles I have and I found a few I didn't know I had, huge amount of work ahead in restoring some of the tat but that's part of the fun.....

To give an idea of the size of Spot on against Dinky.....

Thanks for the comments and the search goes on... Not interested in boxed items, would need to sell house to buy any...

Never did hear the term Glyder before... You learn something new every day....

The Austin A40 Maggi.. odd one I suspect most are fake or beyond my price limits....

Thanks Dublin6 for all the photos Now I can see what your avatar is

I am really beginning to like the Spot On cars.

The only one on my wish list is the Routemaster, but that is hardly affordable

now all we need is a good photo session of parts especially front bumpers with grille and lights and the same with the rear bumpers.

it appears that the plastic was terribly brittle on the Spot-on models.
