Here's where you can discuss all general diecast stuff - mystery items, ask who made a model of a particular car, ask for info about an obscure manufacturer or chat about anything else related to vehicles smaller than 1:1 scale!

TOPIC: Announcement! TC 3.0 is almost here!

Apart from my galleries being so slow as to be invaded by snails slowing down the process to a utmost stall. If I was in a plane I would be dead by now. Cannot enter details in gallery images in most cases. The rest of TC is reasonable to get around although there is some time delay if one tends to type too fast. Spell check and translater on Google are interacting again which is good news for me on IE9

Hi everybody,

I will ask about adding a "Remember Me" tickbox to the blue sign-in module.

Dave, if you have site pages bookmarked on your browser that you bookmarked when we had the old site, some of the URL's may have changed. If you login to the new site, then re-bookmark the pages, this may solve your problem.

Regarding the "Latest Posts" not being on the Community menu, we're aware that the forums are the most important part of the site for many users - that's why Forums are the only thing on the Comunity dropdown. I can add Latest Posts as well if there is enough demand and people would really like that? Please let me know.

Richard, I'm curious - how did you set up the site in it's "own browser"? As far as I was aware we don't have our own browser!

GunnerJim, I'm not sure what's causing the slowness for you - is anyone else still experiencing slow loading or gallery issues?

Hi LaToya, it happened when I was fiddling with Google Chrome. I tried to reverse the effect but that didn't work.
Then when I found a swirly atom logo which is probably from Google Chrome it literally says the TC homepage.

I think I ticked a bunch of boxes for desktop, quicklaunch and default browser.

Must've made TC my main homepage.

Its not interfering with Firefox and both are running smoothly in tandem.

Basically how it happened was a fluke.

uploading photos still slow, but not as slow as when I was still using MF.

The more I think about it the more I believe that I accidentally set up TC as my main startup page in Google Chrome.
And I can't go anywhere else anyway, so the tabs are gone.

But that was one of the reasons I don't like chrome. Difficulty switching to other sites or synchronizing favorites.

Doesn't matter now.

last I hear Mac's use the same Intel chippy as the IBM clones.

chances are pretty good Intell has cracked Mac's already.

Apple have been using the Intel processor for some years now, but that doesn't make their OS any more vulnerable, so I'm told. Anyway my Mac is a G4 which is pre-Intel.

The danger these days is, now that so many other gadgets such as iPad, iPod, iPhone are using versions of the Mac OS, the hackers will be paying more attention to it. So it's bound to be hacked sooner or later.

reboot the whole lot. click on the chrome icon and google chrome opens as per normal.

click on homepage and TC opens up in a separate window.

close google chrome but TC window stays open.

I am so confused.

Thanks LaToya, I have my bookmarks working fine now, but the emails still take me to the Home page whether I'm signed in or not.

Richard, you are set up to open a new window not a new tab in your browser. That way you get a completely seperate browser window opening that is independant of the first window. I use that feature all the time with MF and my eBay pages and Pay Pal pages.

Yes, it also sounds like your default landing page for your Chrome is TC. I use my suppliers page for my opening page on MF (Mozilla Firefox for those that don't follow abbreviations)

I just tried the Remember Me check box. I logged in on the Green banner at the top. I checked the remember me box. I then went to my emails and followed the links to them and that worked fine. If I don't log in first, I only go to the home page, the link in the email does not work like before.

So I log out and then try to log in as the site is supposed to remember me.  I type N in the user box and nobleco shows up, I click that. The dots are in the password box as always but I don't enter there. I hit log in and I am rejected. No message that I have entered a wrong password or username, just rotates back to the same page I was on, Forms in this case so the Remember me Check box does not work for me, in fact it never has.

Well, it just took me three times to log in. I use the green flag at the top center and tried twice to log in. I checked the box to remember me and both times were a fail. I then tried the little blue box top right and that worked but it did not take me to my landing page, Forums, nor the Home page as it usually does. This time it took me to latest posts. Hmmmm. Strange things are lurking in the corners, me thinks.
