Here's where you can discuss all general diecast stuff - mystery items, ask who made a model of a particular car, ask for info about an obscure manufacturer or chat about anything else related to vehicles smaller than 1:1 scale!

TOPIC: Announcement! TC 3.0 is almost here!

What a mess! I've just tried this again. Whichever of my TC book marks I use (and clearing the cache each time), TC opens at the desired page yes - but this is the only site in the universe where my browser can't sign me in automatically.

So I click the blue button and the window opens, but my autofill still doesn't work. I have to type in my user name, and even though my password is there in the bullet font I have to retype it to be accepted. Then when the site does recognise me, it takes me to the home page!!

Is it worth all the effort?

I'm using the best browser there is (IMHO), Safari on a Mac.

I can't speak to Mac computers but the log in for the pass word has never worked as long as I have been on the site, Since 2008. I do not use auto fill as it always fills in the wrong information and I have to correct it. This is an issue I have had since 2000. I do not keep personal data on my computer. No Credit Card info, no addresses or usernames. Too easy to hack if they get in, which nobody has, ever. I still don't like to have that stored on my computer. I am quite happy to log in by typing N in the log in box and my user name nobleco shows up to click on. I do not like having my passwork auto filled. Too big a chance for hackers to get it. Never tell anyone your passwords, not even your computer. That is my policy. I still don't know where you can check, log me in automatically. I have never seen that on this site.

Strange isn't it Dave, I also have Safari on an old Mac but have not had any problems other than having to re bookmark the Forum page, the old bookmark took me to home page.

I notice that the direct link back to latest posts has been removed from the Community drop down

Check the left side of your screen. You should see that in one of the flyout menus. It is top of the list here where I am typing this,

You can not get forum content in Toypedia or Market place or anywhere but forums as that is what it is for.

hi nobleco

At the top centre on the home page is a green banner register for free if you open that it has a box to register and lower down one to log in and a remember me box

thanks Chris... hopefully it won't kick me out now everytime it idles.

quick edit... it works now.

So, using chrome and using a feature that I can access TC in its own webbrowser which I found by accident. Not sure how it works, can't explain it. Put a shortcut on my desktop and it just bypasses everything.

Still using MF for all other websites.

Uploading photos is a lot quicker now as well, no time outs which is pleasant.

Still goes to the Homepage despite having ticked the box in preferences to go directly to the forums. That's still a two-step move

Jim, I'm no computer wizz but it sounds to me like you need to open your browser's autofill list and clear out some old stuff that's getting in the way.

As for passwords, yes if I was using a windoze machine I'd think twice about keeping them too, since microsoft is apparently so easy to hack. Then again, if some clever nerd did manage to get into my Mac and discover my TC password, what would it achieve really? I don't keep sensitive stuff like credit card details in my 'puter, just signin stuff for sites like these.

Sorry guys, I'm getting way off topic.

Hey Ixtis, I saw that green banner this morning (and was annoyed 'cause it hid some of the text I was trying to read) but I can't see it now. Wonder if there's anywhere else I can get TC to "remember me".
