Here's where you can discuss all general diecast stuff - mystery items, ask who made a model of a particular car, ask for info about an obscure manufacturer or chat about anything else related to vehicles smaller than 1:1 scale!

Hi everybody - I'm just testing through the issue with the link from the emails. It seems to be a browser-specific issue. Here's what I found:

In Google Chrome, you should get the correct behaviour (ie, clicking on the link in the email will take you direct to the forum post). In FireFox it goes to the top of the thread and in IE (and Safari on a PC) it goes to the homepage. (If you copy & paste the URL from IE it takes you direct to the post).

I will have the tech guys look at this as a priority to get it working properly with all browsers. (In the meantime, if anybody fancies trying a new browser, we recommend Google Chrome, especially if you have a slow PC as it is a lot faster and lighter on your system resources than IE).

Hi LaToya I managed to up load some pictures into one of my galleries on to have the gallery freeze up on me. Could move or enter descriptions or tags about the photos either. Still getting those ghosts though. For the slowness it could be my computer as I had a couple of crashes and have only just got back on line. Everything is running slow on here for me but it is alright on eBay. Google spell check is working good that's now a plus.

Were can I choose my landing page?

You can do this by going to Dashboard, then My Settings>My Details. You select your landing page from a dropdown. Hope this helps!

ETA again: this should now be working - let me know if you encounter any issues with it.

LaToya, my landing page is set for Forums but I keep landing on the home page. I use Firefox ver 12.0. I was using Chrome but found that there was no Tool Bar and it was hard to find my imported bookmarks. They were buried deep inside chromes bookmarks stuff. The think I did not like the most was having to use quick keys for stuff like printing. There is no File, Edit, View, History, Bookmarks, tools and Help like all other browers. I could not find where to load this tool  bar either. I looked on and off for a couple days and could not find it. It also took over my emails as a default and now If I answer an email from my web site it takes me to a Word email page. I have to copy and paste the email address, and the message into a new email message in my MSN email. It is a pain. I don't like Chrome at all and did not see any speed advantage. In fact it slowed my machine down.

When I get emails I click the link. If I am NOT logged in I go to the home page. I then log in and click the back button or go to my email and click the link again. I then go to the thread but appear at the top of the page. Now I have to try and figure out where I want to be on that page. Some pages are quite long so takes a bit to find where in the post you should be.

The only place I can see that you are notified of a PM is on the blue button, top right with your avatar on it and then only if you drop the menu. Otherwise there is not notice of a new PM like the old system. We will get this right yet.

When I click on Dashboard, I do not get "settings" or "details".....why can't I see those to select my landing page??? There is no "drop-down menu that I can see to choose these from...just Dashboard and clicking it opens a new page with all of my favorites, etc.

Terry, once you get to the Dashboard, look on the left side. You will see the links to My Messages, My Articles etc. Further down the list is My Settings. Hover over that and a new drop down list appears. Click on My Details and then choose Edit Details from the Top tab menu. Scroll Down and you will see, Update Landing Page. Choose the page you want from the drop down list.

kicks me out after a half hour idle.

agreeing what Jim mentions what a pain chrome is, but at least its not hanging like MF anymore.
That might get smoothed over.

Anyhoo, got to sort out my old settings from MF in chrome now.

just found out I can launch TC3 as an independent webpage that is self-sufficient and being disconnected from the normal browser its superfast.

got it as a quicklaunch on my desktop.

When I close this window, and open a new page I have to log back in again.

anyhoo, I think the platform is chrome so I'll leave the two separate and still use MF for my usual stuff.

Hi everybody!

In rough order...

Jim, the issues with which part of the page you come into from the email/coming into the homepage instead of the forum have been logged - it's browser-specific, and we've asked that this be sorted as a priority, it shouldn't be too much of an issue to fix.

Richard, the half hour timeout we'll check - I'm not sure how long it's currently set to keep you logged in if you leave it idle, if it's too short a time, we'll increase it.

Terry, as per Jim, all the controls are now in the left side panel. This design was chosen because some people complained that they had to hover over the menus at the top to make the floating menus appear and didn't know they were there, so we hope eveyrone likes this better

Chris, the sign in issue you experienced sounds like a cache issue - it will likely be OK for you from now on, let us know if the problem recurs.
