Here's where you can discuss all general diecast stuff - mystery items, ask who made a model of a particular car, ask for info about an obscure manufacturer or chat about anything else related to vehicles smaller than 1:1 scale!

I am using Fire Fox on Windows 7. Have not ever lost the tool bar up top of the reply page. The only thing missing from previous versions is the Spell Checker.

I used to use Fire Fox with my Windows XP version and had no problems with it showing the tool bar. Even Google Chrome and IE showed the bar. Do you have a lot of add ons to your browser??? That may be part of the problem. Another thing to check is your pop up blocker. Make sure you allow pop ups with Toy Collector. I am not sure but that could be causing problems depending on how TC uses menues and such. They may be PopUps. Allow them on this site.

Hi everybody - I don't think blocking popups should cause this issue - I will check with the tech guys on it.

I was just wondering if any of the tool bars act like pop ups there for if you have pop ups blocked they will not show. Just a suggestion from the peanut gallery.

My Pop-up is allowing TC no problem there and I would get acknowledgement through my toolbar to say if it was blocking TC. Well it used to do it once upon a time.

No pop up blocker in IE8, so that is not the problem

Hi everybody - I have just been doing some testing and this appears to be another IE-related issue, as that's the only browser I can't get the formatting toolbar in. Can I just confirm that all the people who cannot see the formatting toolbar are using IE and not FF or Chrome or any other browser? (While we get this sorted, you should still be able to bold, italicize or underline text by doing Ctrl+B, Ctrl+I or Ctrl+U - this works for me in IE9)

Thanks Luff, I think this is most definitely an IE issue. I will alert my tech guys.

For some reason, IE really seems to hate planetdiecast.com!

IE hates anything that does not belong to Microsoft. I thought everyone knew this. Billy made it impossible to remove IE from your system too. I hate IE and refuse to use it. I am just glad the courts said he could no longer restrict the browsers and only allow IE to access his updates etc.

I am using FF 13.0 with Windows 7, and I do not see the edit toolbar when I draft a message. I have included a screen shot for this reply, so you can see what I am talking about.

this is a bit of a change from what we are talking about here but I am haveing a real time trying to find and access parts of the site. Why did you remove the drop down menus under each heading. NOw you have to open up the heading (Articles, toypedia Community etc) in order to see what is in them. This is a total waste of time to me and seems to take quite a long time as the site likes to take its time getting anywhere these days. It seems much slower than usual and it is very hard to find what you want to look at. Some things don't even show until you log in, like Market Place and the events calendar. It took me over 15 minutes to find the events calendar and it would be right there, under a drop down menu easy to find, not haveing to spend all that time looking for it. Seems like the newer the version the harder it is to find anything now.

I have also noticed that if I don't sign in the Events, which is under Community, does not show up. If I log in it is there and after I log out it is also there. Is this my history or cache doing this as it seems strange that some things are available when your logged in but are not available until you log in.

Hi Jim,

The Events link not being there isn't a caching issue - some things are only available for logged-in members by design, although I'm not sure now why we made that only available to members. I'll change it.

The idea behind moving to the side panel navigation was that we'd had some complaints with the floating top menus that people didn't realise the links on the red menu at the top of them (ie Articles, ToyPedia, Community, Market and Dashboard) were clickable themselves. Feedback on this is always welcome, though!
