Here's where you can discuss all general diecast stuff - mystery items, ask who made a model of a particular car, ask for info about an obscure manufacturer or chat about anything else related to vehicles smaller than 1:1 scale!

TOPIC: Photos from the BedrijfsautoRAI 2012 in Amsterdam

This afternoon I was present at the RAI in Amsterdam Trucks and Vans exhibit by manufacturers etc. etc. We, the NAMAC, were present there and a few members, me included, had the chance showing some of the our scale models in nice dispaly cabinets to a broad audience. Not all truckdrivers are collectors and not all collectors are truck drivers.

MOD: There are also lots of new and some vintage trucks. Is it okay if I show them in this topic too?

First is an impression of my display cabinet, from top to bottom

ENJOY

 1/24 SunStar Routemasters

Corgi 1/50 Routemaster + Tekno Volvo GAM BAKKER

My Restored Dinky Toys

Matchbox and Oxford Diecast Routemasters (sorry for the blurred image)

And some plastic Routemasters

And some of other members

Fantastic display, and a great selection of differant models. I'm an ex truck driver, so good to see the variety of trucks and trailers.

Very nice displays and I really like the military and the transport ones. Models are very well done. Your Restored Dinky toys look right in place, specially if they had vintage trucks etc there at the show too. I bet there was a lot of people looking at all your displays.

Theo, have you thought of doing a Blog on the show instead of a forum post or in fact in addition to a forum post???

Go ahead and put the pictures up here of the show, Your in the General Chat  heading so it is not specific to content like Dinky or Corgi.

First off Theo thanks for showing those pictures. I am interested in the Military displays are they kit builds or are they diecast. Like there are so many military diecasts on the market it is a bit hard to know them all. I also took notice of a couple of New Ray trucks in their boxes. The other question how many visitors came through the door would also be of interest.

Thanks for all the positive comments, let's hope all our models are still there when we pick them up next Saturday. They are insured

The military vehicles are app. in scale 1/50 and are all hand built as are the accessoires. I have spoken very briefly to the owner, so I can't get into much detail on them.

The trucks (photo 9 and 10 ) are all Tekno or Lion Toys, which have been converted by the owner. He is a very skilled scale model builder who makes beautiful trucks and even paints the texts on the sides with are very fine brush

If the owner of the trucks is air brushing text then I would love to see closer shots of them. I can't imagine doing that myself, no way.

And as promised, some photos of the real life ones. As you can see all the carpets are still covered with protective plastic. This is a great time making photos, no one around and in your way

Some oldtimers too.

This VW T1 is currently on TV in an advertisement

Great shots Theo, love that old Opel, can certainly see the GM influence there.  The yellow Tri steer/bogie drive cab/chassis. (GINAF?) Any idea what application that was designed for.  We have a number of twin steer/bogie drives here, mainly fitted with cement mixer bodies on them, but not seen a tri steer cofiguaration before. Obviously designed to take some weight.

Thanks George,

This coming Saturday I shall spend the whole day at the RAI, if possible I'll ask about the tri-steer GINAF (GINAF = based on DAF trucks). I noticed the tri-steer too, so that is why I took a photo
