Rolls Royce PHANTOM in 1:64 ?? any ideas ?? 3 years, 6 months ago #1

Hello Everyone.

This site is wonderful ... it seems
there are a number of true experts here
in many venues of collecting.  Well, as such ...

Would anyone happen to have information about any
1:64 scale castings of the current Rolls Royce PHANTOM ??
Trust me, I\'ve searched vigorously ... with little or no success.

I am currently customizing a \'69 Hot Wheels casting of their
Rolls SILVER SHADOW ... still awaiting its new paint scheme ...

Its thread in now posted within the \'Restorations/Customs\' forum.
http://www.planetdiecast.com/index.php?option=com_fireboard&Itemid=824&func=view&catid=93&id=21193

I actually have two copies of that casting ... my second one is now in
preliminary progress.  It will be a wild \'street rod\' SPOILER version.
So what a \'dream come true\' it would be to have a 1:64 PHANTOM.

Also ... I now own a MiniChamps 1:64 Bentley BROOKLANDS.
What an amazingly detailed, quite beautiful casting it truly is.

I\'m very intriqued by the new 2011 MULSANNE flagship ... and
I wonder if anyone knows if MiniChamps might soon release a
1:64 scale version of Bentley\'s new visionary creation.  Maybe ??
MC recently introduced their 1:43 version of it ... yet ALL of my
collection is 1:64 ... and I\'m trying maintain scale continuity.

Any information will be helpful and highly valued.
Thank You in advance for your kindness.
CHEERS ...
Jeffrey

yeah, a bit tricky to find in scale 1/64

however, found this superb model in scale 1/43 instead.

Thank You \'REVO\' ... Nice images of that Drophead Coupe.

There are other current Rolls Royce models being hand-built.
In resin ... completely handbuilt ... meticulous detailing as well.

However ... I\'m not certain that any of these (imaged in this reply)
have been licnesed/authorized directly by Rolls.  These gorgeous
1:43 pieces are made by Shenzhen Of China.  Truly dazzling.  I\'d
still prefer to remain with 1:64 as with ALL my present \'kuztomz\',
to maintain a desired level of consitency.  But these are tempting ...

Oh no Richard !!!

The Minichamps Phantom DHC is more and more accurate ! Finer. Better in every way.

Cheaper and have a real brushed metal bonnet ! (teh first black one in fact and the blue delaer version).

Look at the difference between an ATC and a Minichamps...

Hmmm sorry I didn\'t know 1/64 Phantom.

I know hundreds 1/60 to 1/68 RR but no Phantom...

Non-licensed, made in China by YTGF.

I've had some models from ATC although they are nice models they are not quite right, and certain things just look out of place.

Hi Everyone ... well, at last, it seems there might be a 1:64 scale
Rolls Royce PHANTOM floating around ... or at least, that's what
this YTGF (??) version looks to be.  From its level of detail.

(thank you, "jclevering" for finding and posting your photo of one))

Below, is an altered / edited copy of his photo ... it's my 10-minute
attempt to clean up its overall appearance ... and maybe even fine-
tune the details somewhat, in the hopes of making it look more like
a proper PHANTOM.  No details added ... just some tweaking ... ... ...

Now if I could simply find the avenues to locate on of these, if in
fact it actually IS cast in 1:64 scale.  Never heard of YTGF before.

What I would do to it is to polish it like a mirror and possibly re-paint,
or simply leave it in the mirror-like metal ... like a true 'bling' show-car.

Here's an idea for a rolls pimpmobile and it's not as cheap and tacky as some I've seen

I don't like it, but on the other hand, if you have plenty of cash, nothing seems impossible

The 1/1 versions that get the horrible paint jobs and after paying hundreds of thousands of pounds then having the original paint stripped to some god awful combo and naff modifications that just aren't needed begs the question why? Only the halfwits with the dough can answer that question I suppose....

There are two non-licensed makers of the Rolls-Royce Phantom in 1:64ish scale. I never heard of YTGF before either. It was discussed on a recent Facebook discussion and I ordered this as part of a set online from a Chinese retailer.

The picture I made is not good as my camera is giving up the ghost (it displays lines in the picture). So thanks for cleaning it up as you did. The wheels are over-sized and therefore the wheelarches are too.For the rest it does seem to catch the lines quite ok.

Thank You again, "jclevering" ... I have made numerous attempts at locating YTGF ... several net-searches, using various key words.  No luck.  But given enough time, and some helpful info, I trust I'll soon be able to find where they're available.

If I may ask, how did You acquire YOUR copy of one ?  From what source ?  What model #, or model name was printed on its packaging ?? ... ... I had sent you a private message herein to ask the same question, a couple of days ago.  Thank You, my friend, for any helpful info you could provide, in that endeavor.  Even if it would need to come from a Chinese supplier, that can be accomplished.

I currently have two castings of the MiniChamps Bentley BROOKLANDS in 1:64 scale. The first one (shown below) I am leaving just as it was originally cast ... no changes.

My second copy, I am customizing ... as best as I can, to keep it as elegant as possible.

... sitting alongside one of my customized Hot Wheels SUGAR CADDY pieces ...

... sitting alongside my own full-scratch-built custom-design big rig ...

... its detail-scale, while compared to non-detailed pewter 1:64 scale human figurines ...

My dream is to acquire one (or two) of the PHANTOM in 1:64  ... then mildly customize one them, similar to how I customized the 'BROOK".  I do have some ideas about how I can add modifications, in order to make the PHANTOM's wheel-wells look more true-scale.  It would be wonderful to place the RR PHANTOM alongside the Bentley 'BROOK".
