Opel Astra GTC - 1:60 - Welly

The Opel/GM factory in Antwerp was one of the "victims" of the recent economic crisis. It was closed in 2010, though it was one of the oldest assembly plants of GM.

Matchbox branded this car both Opel and Vauxhall Vectra. But is the Vauxhall in reality.

I guess we don't tell people they are Volvo, Audi and BMW with the badges but which ones. I hate looking at a car and having now idea what it is. Names people, please if for no other reason than most people do not live in Belguim who belong to TC and I have not seen any of these here in Canada. Maybe that 2002 and the Volvo Wagon???

Editions Atlas: Brossel A80 CDAR with Jonckheere body.

The brothers Brossel in Brussels made commercial vehicles until British Leyland bought it and closed it soon after.

This is a Gillet Vertigo, raced by two Belgians Vanina Ickx (daughter of F1 driver Jacky Ickx) and Bas Leinders (former test driver for Minardi)

Hey, I'd completely forgotten about this thread! Here's a 1958 Van Hool 306 bus from the Atlas/DeAgostini "Bus Collection". It arrived about a month ago (as number 7) and I got the next one (an IFA H6 B from East Germany) just yesterday. Nicely detailed models, just wish they'd been 1/43 or 1/50, not 1/76.

Very nice bus and great detail. Love the roof with all those windows, Would be good in some of the canyons of the USA like Bryce Canyon. Lots to look up at there.

Typical for the era, at least in Western Europe at the time.

I hope the Renault assembled car was better than the US one.  My Mom had a '64 Rambler Ambassodor model like the one pictured! With a sluggish straight six.  Hated that car from the day it first appeared in our driveway. Dad replaced it with a new '65 Ford Galaxie.  Like going from a mule to a thoroghbred!

Belgium used to be big into American cars. This has gone a bit now, but you will find here more American cars then say Germany.
