Heya Polluck...

Got two Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwings. My first one I bought new and send it back because of the extra drill holes in the chassis. My second one I bought on TradeMe for NZ$25 bargain. It had the same holes. I think something went awry at the factory.

Here's the kicker. my first one has a sticker which says its 'Made In Hong Kong'. My second has a bigger sticker that says 'Made In China'.

Where-ever they were made... they've got the same factory error.

I wonder when Joal made the Tekno copies in Spain?  I will have to check my Joals to see where they were made 0- I enver knew they were also made in Macau!!!  Do you know about the Tekno Joal cnnection - when did it start?  I wrote the current company but they never replied.

Just got this one yesterday. Mercedes-Benz E-Class (S212), 2009 by Minichamps and guess what? It's 1/18th scale! One of just 7 in my collection!

sweet ride.

do the rear doors open?

only 1 of 7???

my last photo in that scale is 1 out of approx 120 and hadn't shown this one yet. Thought I'd get it out of the box to try and remind me why its stacked away.

Yes, everything opens...

And yes, I only have 7 in this scale, actually I thought of you when I got this (and a Kyosho BMW that arrived in the same package) - I know how many 1/18 models you have, and I don't understand how you can find the room for them. I mean, just these two are absolutely huge - they came in a box that could have held countless 1/43 models, the Mercedes weighs 1½ kg. Surely you must keep many of them stacked in their boxes or?

I absolutely love 1/18 models (just the carpeting in itself is amazing), but there's no way I could ever find the room for 120 of them!!!

Oh, I better add a photo of a Mercedes-Benz to stay on-topic. This time we're back to 1/43 with this Minichamps Vito (V239) minibus, 2004 - bought for my "modern cars used as taxis"-collection, along with a Sprinter, a Viano and a B-class.

live and learn my friend. welcome to my chaos of 1/18th scale stacking.

hoarding gives a different dimension to collecting...

photos are kinda relevant... top pic has half a dozen Mercedes with three clearly visible as Maisto. Bottom pic has three Franklin Mint models in the cupboard and a maisto on top of it.
