I bet nearly everybody with racing cars in his collection at least once has been observing the array of numbers on doors, bonnets, roofs, windscreens, etc., counting from 1 to...  15? 26? Or even 40 if he had a vast collection?
I have an Alfa Romeo Tipo 33 TT 12 Coupe \'Giro d\'Italia\' in my collection, number 518. But if I start to count from 1 the first missing number is in the thirties.
Can we do it together? Do we have all numbers from 1 to 100 and beyond? Will I ever be able to put a picture of that Alfa 33 number 518 here?

This is a 1:64 Alfa Romeo 155 V6 TI. The original cars raced in the DTM and ITC series but the manufacturer put fantasy liveries on all the models, many of them from the automotive industries. The origin of Track Stars is Australian, the models were produced in China. Track Stars made also the Mercedes 190 and Opel Calibra from the DTM, but also Formula Cars, American Stock Cars and pick-up trucks. All models were sold with a matching tinplate box. I only collect the Alfas and have 29 different liveries now. Later Track Stars was sold to Hasbro. The brand has revived but the models are of a very different character now.

As far as I know I still miss three 155s: a plain yellow one, which was sold under the Maisto brand, a yellow and blue fantasy competion cars, sold under the Action City brand and a Track Stars in \'Eagle 1\'. Huh... what\'s in a number...

Someone in TC owns this lovely Matchbox Roadrunner.

Got something similar, a few of them. Remembered I wanted this #4 Chevy Camaro from Matchbox. Not sold in NZ, I\'m afraid.

Alfa Romeo Tipo 33 Spider \"Daytona\" (short body) Mugello circuit 1968, drivers Facetti / Biscaldi.
1/ 43, Made by Best. High detailing for a diecast. And quite accurate; the spoilers or extra mirrors on the car were varying from race tot race, so did Best with its range of Tipo 33 models. The open air vents alongside the rear window were a nice feature at the time of the introduction of this model.

Nr. 8...  twice. Hard to imagine, but both models represent the same car; an Alfa Romeo 8c 2300 Le Mans, winner of the 24 hrs race in 1932, driven by Sommer and Chinetti.

Here\'s a classic (got three). Matchbox No.9 Ford Escort RS2000 from 1978.

In 2005 publisher Fabbri together with Gazetta dello Sport started a new partwork series, consisting of 80 different Alfa Romeos. Some of them were quite good models, others were terrible, like the Alfetta GTV6 \'Totip\'. This Trofeo Alfasud is one of the better models.
This particular model represents a car from the Trofeo Alfasud competition. In 1976 the competition drivers were joined by racing celebs for a fund raising race for the victims of an earthquake in the Friuli region. This no. 10 was raced by Niccolini and late F1 driver Ronnie Peterson. The drivers names are on the window on the right side.
I did not collect all 80 models from the Fabbri collection. I left some of them sitting in their blister packaging and made this \'ladder\' for exposing them.

Another one from my Track Stars collection (see first post in this thread).



But with another brand on it: Edocar from the Netherlands. The colours and sponsor names (all fantasy) are different from the original Track Stars models. The same \'Xtreme\' car was also marketed by \'Fast Lane Diecast\', a Toys \'R Us brand.



The Porsche models in the Edocar Touring Series did not come from Track Stars, the Mercedes and Opel did.


 

Bad luck? Not me! This is a number 13 in my collection, a 155 V6 TI from the 1994 DTM season. Made by Minichamps. The car was raced by Gianni Giudici.

I think this is a Johnny Lightning.
