That just has to be the extreme Woody...

Delahaye.jpg

The Delahaye 135M shooting break Guilloré 1948. Marcel Mongin was a Delahaye driver, and did especially well at the 24 Hours at Le Mans (5th in 1935, 2nd in 1937, accident in 1939). In 1946 Mongin was ready to retire and Delahaye rewarded him for his many years racing with the gift of the special and unique shooting break. This car was made by Guillore for the Delahaye factory, maybe on the base of a car driven by Marcel Mongin.

The original car was dark red with steel wheels and restored in USA in the nineties in dark green with wire wheels.

As far as I\'m concerned it does. Are those Mecury wagons or Fords?

Repaint project: the #344 Plymouth Woody. I believe its supposed to be a tan colour with red side panels. Anyhoo, I figure a more woodsier colour would suit it. Green with woodgrain brown and either tan or light green panels.
It also was squashed at the rear. Good thing that this Dinky came with the metal plate chassis.
So here\'s a before photo for now as this\'ll be an easy restore.

It should look something like this one I redid a few months ago. Got a decent price on eBay too.

Here is another one I did, #344, the first one is a 27f

Both these models came from England for a real good price. They had been stripped of paint but had not be disassembled. There was a bit if a mess on the base when opened up. I have more pics of the restore if you want more. Not all pictures are on Photo Bucket.

Thanks Jim,

I\'ll probably will mask the tires and chassis. I found that with some of my rivet restores they come apart too easily.
I might need some new tires though.

I use screws on some of my customs, and JB Weld on others. depending on how much I\'ve changed the chassis.

I use SF\'s cast rivets. Look most like the real thing. I drill and then get a loose press fit and use super glue to hold them in. The tops break off if you have to do a repair or want to do a repaint.

Looks like I might have to order it in. As you may have noticed Toy Collectors in NZ are a very rare species. Not everyone wants to go online or wants to share their magnanimous collection online.
