I have one of these McLean's truck and van. It was missing the rear doors so I have bought some replacements. Not too much work to get them looking right. I just don't know what color they are supposed to be. Were they Plastic or Diecast when issued and where they white or cream to match the van? Any pictures of the rear of an original would be appreciated.



janwerner, this is a nice conversion and I may take mine and make a few shots like this when I put the new doors in.

Were the original doors metal or plastic to go with the van box which is plastic? The look plastic in your photo.

Heres my Peterbuilt transporter.  Its 1/24 Radio controlled and made of die cast metal with rubber tyres.

You got that right James. I think it is almost 4 feet long. Frame showed this last year. Nice truck and great to show off the 1/24 scale cars on.

It nearly went into the 'out' pile during a clear out but I still cant bring myself to part with it. It should be up on a shelf realy.... Its shamefull.

It's an Ixo product for "Camions d'autrefois" (pastime lorries ?) collection from Altaya.

Truck is zamak, and trailer is all plastic !

This is regular car transporters, NOT race transporters.

I just had to get in on this topic. I think this hits the basic mark, and it is from the 1950's.
      All plastic, and very playworthy. Note the engine and loading ramp.
