The Corgi Scammel Scarab doesn't have a fifth wheel.

In fact it shows the trailer support wheels resting on the beams between the rear wheels.

Looks kinda weird.

This be a 10th Anniversary Corgi Collectors Club 1984-94 Scammel Scarab. The model fits the theme I collect, but not fond of this model. Already turned down two other variants.

I have two of these Corgi scarabs and I think they are a superb model.

Now with what your going on about with the hitch most Corgi Classics with trailers are also like that.

Having the wheels folding forward is to help hold the trailer hitch in place on the fifth wheel maybe.

Looks to me like the dolly wheels fold up and the metal wheel look a likes slot into grooves on either side of where a fifth wheel attachment would be.

The reason it was mentioned was usually it's a pin into a hole, but this scares has no fifth wheel.

Took a while to figure out

There have been a few of these little monster designs.
I think these were mainly used on the docks
