You're very welcome. Actually the packaging could probably best be described as 'semi-blister': the model is mounted on the display base, but instead of a perspex top, there are two half (left and right) blister pieces that interlock, effectively protecting the model. This whole assembly fits into the outer cardboard box.

I don't have a list of what's in store, but the rack holds 20 models, so I assumed this to be more or less the size of the collection?

Looking at photos at the website and the cover art on the box, I would think that the collection will certainly include these:

Volvo P1800 (white)

Volvo Amazon estate (late version) (light blue-greenish)

Volvo Duett (544) (red with white window areas)

It's probably also safe to assume that there will be some 142/144/145/164 and 242/244/245/264 versions made, but the big question is how far they'll go back and forward in time and if they'll include some of the really obscure vehicles (terrain etc.)

Hi,

It seems to be uncommon that Atlas prints infos in different languages on a collection since most collections are proper to one country.

The car rack is indeed an novelty and has so far never been existed with other collections. But will that mean that their will be only 20 models ? No idea.

But I was also told that with Atlas, you never know.

They have already ended more than one collection before the planned models were all released.

If the collection doesn't sell, they just stop it.

I was also told that the third release will be :

- in Finland  : 1953  PV445 Duett  in red and white + 6 pages booklet

- in Sweden : white Volvo P1800

Sorry that it's been so long since the last update here. I have just recieved my 6th model today, so it's progressing nicely - this will be the 1st one to go on the middle shelf of the rack.

It seems the models are being released in a somewhat random order, different in each country. So I'll list what I've recieved, followed by the number on the box in brackets.

1. Volvo PV444, 1945 (8 506 001)

2. Volvo Amazon 120, 1956 (8 506 002)

3. Volvo P1800S, 1961 (8 506 003)

4. Volvo P1800ES, 1971 (8 506 006)

5. Volvo 164, 1969 (8 506 008)

6. Volvo 262C Bertone, 1977 (8 506 010)

I don't know who got the idea of sending 2 P1800's right after another, seems a bit silly because they really look so alike with the latter simply being an estate version. Sure, the colors are different, but still... you wait 4 weeks for what will be next, could it be this or that? And then when it finally arrives, it looks almost the same as the previous one!

The one recieved today was totally new to me, I'd never heard of this car before. It's basically a 2-door coupe version of the 264 with lowered roof, Bertone design and an extremely angled windscreen, almost like a sportscar.

Photos (hopefully) to follow soon!

This is a really cool partwork! It's amazing how many of these series they are doing now, and how they only make them available in certain territories (there is a huge one from Hachette that had lots of obscure Japanese cars that was sold only in Japan with models made by Norev).

The Volvo 262C Bertone is a very cool car - and it was surprisingly previously modelled by Lone Star in 1/64-ish scale.

Something about being exclusive by Atlas for those selected counties. I found this interesting in the May 2011 edition Model Collector that somehow I have over looked.

As seen on TV my rough guess would be for the UK audiences only.

I thought some of you Atlas collectors would be interested in this Atlas paraphernalia.

Those Stobart's do look good and a collector can find the real vehicle's image to match as well through the Stobart Club

Well, the bus is certainly not UK-only... I recieved this two days ago...

Here in Denmark it's the second installment of the Bus Collection series. The first one was a 1953 Volvo B 616. With the Volvo also came a poster supposedly showing the buses in the collection... except the the RTW 75 wasn't on it! Actually the only UK-bus on the poster was a Bristol Lodekka! Also if you compare my bus to that on the pamphlet, you'll notice that the ads are different, the route is different and the registration is different as well!

Very interesting Mr Tee. Looks like there maybe more than one route for these buses around the Greek myth about Atlas. Anyway what is your professional opinion on this scale model and is this bus worthy of praise.
