Phew! I'm quite exhausted from the fight for this! With 30 minutes to go, there wasn't a single bid, so I placed mine, thinking it would be a walkover, but then all hell broke loose and bids came from everywhere. I did hold on to it, however - it cost more than I originally thought it would, but considering what we're dealing with, I still think I got a superb bargain.

So what's it all about? A superb Bentley, as close to mint as you'll get - everything is still there: original tires, spare wheel in the boot, all four tiny jeweled taillights (for some reason they always tend to go missing) and even the bonnet emblem. The seller described it as 'slightly worn', which is the only reason I hesitate to label it as mint, but whatever flaws it has, they've got to be really tiny, and this is certainly a wonderfully preserved model. According to Toymart.com's price guide, a mint, unboxed copy is currently worth £64(!) so for £17.50, I consider this a super win!

That is a very good price. This one still has the fragile rear lights fully intact. I really want a nice example of the other colour, the cream with the weird metalllic green sides!

Yes, I already had this one, but one of the taillights is missing, same goes for the spare wheel and although the paint is quite good, it's nowhere near as good as this, so a definite upgrade!

I'm also looking for the green one. Checked out a few candidates tonight, but either they are really badly playworn or they cost a major fortune.

IT IS a superb win. For sure.

And it's one of my favorite model car. So smooth steering, lovely jewel lights, nice two tone paintwork.

And a historic Corgi ! The first to have :

- jewel lights
- steering
- plated grille
- spare wheel in boot.

I sure did enjoy the photos of this great model, thanks for sharing. I still haven't found a good affordable green one, it's been close a few times, but not quite.

I love your display stand, is it your design or original Corgi? This is really an exceptional way to show (off) the model

Yes, it's an original display stand. Was sent to (actualy bought by) dealers to show this great novelty. Mine is a little sunfaded. It may have been shown on the shop window for a time. I don't know how many are still "in use", but it seems to be a scarce piece.

Steering is the finest ever done on such a model car type. Although you have to press on the side you want to turn on. Tekno did a "like real" one respecting physical laws. But not so smooth than the Corgi one.
- Jewel rear lights were used only for this car and the "take off wheels" Corvette.
- Steering was only seen on Mercedes 220SE Coupé and Ecurie Ecosse Lorry.
- Grey tires are unique in the Corgi range.

Now you understand why my articles are french written. lol

Corky, you did very well with your English Description. Thanks for showing that display stand as I have never seen one before. Great bit of marketing there by Corgi.
