A minor setback in the repaint, after undercoat and fine rubdown I started repaint, after a couple of minutes I noticed what I at first thought was air bubbles on the surface, so I did the usual thing, took a close up photo an enlarged it on the pc, they were bits!!! quickly washed off the paint and tried the paint on an incomplete dinky 667 that I have kept for experiments, the arms and cage are missing, lo and behold more bits, it is in the paint, having got this from a respectable supplier, he asked me to return said paint for testing, I will be using some of the other paint that I have, possibly the one with lead in it, I hoped to have this finished by last night, as i have a number of other things on the go and will be receiving some more Dinky in need of care and TLC tomorrow. Oh well onwards and upwards.

It almost sounds like a reaction between the paint and the thinner. I\'ve had similar problems with some enamels and the wrong thinner for the paint. Everything from small clumps to a solid mass of goop. What kind of paint was it and what were you thinning it with?

Paint was supposed to be readyto use, don\'t know original manufacturer, however here is a picture of work so far, used shoe polish on the tyres, the spare tyre is bit of a problem the old one had perished and was hard to get off so i cut it off, however when I came to replace the new one I find that there is not enough room behind the cab to get the new one in so i cut it with a box cutter and put it in the spindle the supeglued the ends together, you can\'t see the join ij any case i turned where the join in to the bottom.Simples. Will do headlights and decals tomorrow.

Easy solution instead of drilling the rivets out and disassembling the truck. Looks great so far.
