Do you have problems with spam email like i do, i get all sorts of email offering Viagra, loans and other sorts of rubbish. I switched on my computer this morning to find that somehow during the night my Hotmail had forwarded some of these spam messages on, so if any of the members on here have received one then discard it and accept my sincere apology.

increase your spam filter up a notch.

you then have more control what you want blocked so that it goes into the Junk Folder, and what goes on your safelist.

You may need to put Toycollector on your safelist.

Will do that now Richard, as i do not want this to happen again.

Best bet is install "Avast" antivirus, free and will protect you and your P.C,these mails contain trojans and can seriously damage Pc's... I use Hotmail and I find it does filter out most rubbish and puts them into junk box... Mark unwanted senders as either Junk or Phishing scam and they will reduce and stop soonish....

hotmail phishing doesn't always work though.

I had to put the security one notch higher because a particular nasty worm was using my IP address to send junk to me.

I don't use Hotmail but have email with my service provider. They had spam and junk filters so I don't get much. I have Norton Internet Security and I would recommend it to any one. About $45 a year and well worth it as I have had no problems in over 6 years now.


You should be able to mark emails from sends as spam or junk and cut them out from coming into your computer in the first place. 


I use Windows Live Mail so I have all my email accounts (3) in there. My Toy Collector email is with Google apps. It also has spam filters. Do some checking with your provider and you should have a few accounts with them. I think I can have up to 9. I have 3, my wife has 3 and both my kids have one each.

yeah my ISP is partnered with Yahoo and is called Xtra-Yahoo. We all know Yahoo has a problem with trojans in the past.

I go into my ISP account only to clear the junk mail.

Good that it can be dealt with, but bad that it's often necessary to use a large proportion of your computer's resources to fight spam, phishing, vira and other evil stuff!

Norton is known to be a huge memory hog and I don't think other are much better. Personally I use Avast and it works fine, but often I get the sense that it's slowing down everything, very frustrating!

Funny you should say that about Norton. I find that it uses very little memory. The only time I have a trouble with memory use is when it is doing a back ground scan of the whole computer. I do that every Wednesday at 3:00 am in the morning when I am fast asleep. Other than that, I have no problems with Norton. Mind you I have 8 gigs of Ram, a terra byte hard drive and a Pentium Quad core i5-2300 2.8 Gig processor.

It is a Windows 7 Operating system set for 64 bit processing instead of the 32 or less most people have. I also have a good video card, NVIDIA GeForce GT 430 with 1 gig of ram onboard.


Fast and I have no problems with viruses or trojans or worms, Norton takes care of all that.
