TOPIC: frustration for waiting for an item that will not come

It happened again... and it only happens when I order something from France.

For some unknown reason France does not know how to find New Zealand.

This rivalry between the French and Kiwis do not get left on the Rugby World Cup playing field or even the political field of their support for their own saboteurs on the Greenpeace ship Rainbow Warrior which they mined whilst it was in the port of Auckland.

There are many reasons notwithstanding that I got ignored by the seller 'Alexantoys'.

I scored a beat up French Dinky 39A transporteur trailer that needs to be restored. Parts are a bit awkward but have found a couple of parts va our own Nobleco.

The other part was the slide out ramp and I found the only one available here:

www.ebay.com/itm/370548918989?ssPageName...id=p3984.m1439.l2649

Even though the seller's rep was on 98.6% I bought and paid for the item on 29 April 2012, then waited. Anything from Europe you'll have to account at least two weeks.

Sent a message after two weeks... no reply but the status was changed to 'shipped' with the date 15 May 2012.

Waited another two weeks and still no sign of the package.

Requested the seller on June 3rd 2012 where my package was and if he/she could find out via tracking in the post office.

No reply.

On June 9th I had done enough waiting and opened a case with Customer Support.

The seller was instructed to reply a directive by June 17th.

On the 16th of June a reminder was sent by Customer Support if the issue was resolved and if it had to close the case. A questionnaire form was sent and I answered I wanted the item... I needed this part - its hard to find.

The 17th came and went, then I 'escalated' the case for eBay Customer Support to resolve.

eBay Customer Support ruled in my favor and forced a refund.

Apart from death or hospitalization  why would this seller so blatantly ignore everyone and still have things for sale?

Alexantoys is a customer of mine and I have had no problem with him. I don't know why you would have a problem even if there is a football rivalry going on. That has nothing to do with business, not this business anyway.

What part are you looking for??? The sliding ramp for the 39A transporter? I can get that through a seller in Holland. Not cheap though.

this was a repro part.

have you had contact with him in the past two months???

My frustrations tend to throw my thoughts off on a tangent.

This part cost 10 Euro plus 6 Euro for postal costs.

Usually takes about two weeks for packages to leave Europe... give or take a couple of days for the flight and sorting right after.
However, if its surface mail then its 3-6 weeks. Why would a small part yo can slip into an envelop go by ship??? Don't make sense.

If the post has lost it he can claim on insurance so that we both get paid. But he needs to make a claim (like the other fellow).
Then he can send another out.

But he stayed quiet and ignored both me and eBay. I've had the refund for a few days now, and there's no reaction.
Something has gone awry.

That's really annoying and bad that the guy didn't respond to you at all. I just had something take so long to come that I got a refund 5 days before it arrived, bought replacements, then had to pay the guy again when it did come! Full story here:

I thought France would know where New Zealand was after the Rainbow Warrior episode.

I haven't had too much problems with items from eBay sellers in France finding Australia.

One advantage of the Commonwealth is that the postal delivery is excellent...

Europe must still be humouring the pony express

Yes giddy-up there, but they tell me they always get the mail through.
