I thought the best model shop in London at one time was Mint & Boxed of 110 High St Edgware Middlesex until the owner was I think convicted of fraud and sent to prison. My catalogue is dated 1990 and contains beautiful photos of his stock items such as Cromato, Bing, Carette etc but prices to suit their condition and rarity. included in the inventory was a Bing long "Brake" made in 1902. This car featured an automatic steering device connected to an eccentric on the clockwork motor. It also has leather upholstery. At 27 cms long, price quoted was 48,500 pounds. I will try and include a photo later.

don't know much about London... the odd little toyshop up and down the countryside was all I could muster...

however, Holland's Wentink has upgraded to online webpages in the past decade...

Depends how far we are calling London, I was born and bred in SE London but moved out as a kid, my favourite shop was in Old Bexley and is still there Bexley Models.

Most of my first Matchbox came from either Woolworths or the corner post office in Crayford

I want one of those trikes... Either the orange one or the one with the operator in the rear.
