Semis, artics, pickups, vans, road trains - whatever they are and whatever you call them, if they're used to transport stuff, here's where to talk about them.

TOPIC: Berliet, french trucks

Here's a modern diecast from Altaya's "Camions d'Autrefois" series. A 1956 Berliet GLR in Calberson livery.

A great series containing trucks from the 50s, 60s and 70s. Being an Altaya series they're supposed to be very affordable indeed, even in scale 1/43 - this is issue #1 and had a list price of just €4.99, while the others cost €12.99, but... of course, you'd be extremely lucky to get any even near that price on eBay. Most I've seen have been offered at €25-30!

They all come in boxes like this

Issue 1 included not 1, but two magazines...

That has some fantastic graphics on it. Even at 25-30 Euros that looks like it would be worth the cost.

Yes, I agree, the graphics are also what impresses me the most. It's full of them on all sides, and even the tiniest ones are crisp and fully legible.

I have one more truck from this series, an old Volvo in two-tone blue and it's equally impressive. I've seen quite a few from this series on eBay and it's really a nice bunch of classic european trucks from Berliet, Unic, Saviem, Volvo, Scania, Mercedes-Benz, Magirus-Deutz, Fiat and so on.

When you click on the reply button and the reply window opens up, click on the blue upload image button. A new window opens and on the first line you will see a browse button on the right. A new window will open with your computer files showing. Click on pictures and open the picture file the picture you want to post is in. Click on the picture you want to insert and click the open button at the bottom of the window. The picture screen will close and the upload image screen will have a message in the lower left corner saying waiting for Toy Collector. When the picture is inserted, the upload image screen will say image uploaded to Toy Collector. Close the window and you will be back to the reply screen. Your picture should show in the reply window. You can keep posting pics this way in the reply post window until you are finished uploading images. When you are done with the post, click the submit image button and the post will upload. It's a very simple process and becomes easier each time you do it.
You can also use Photobucket or Flickr. I used to use Photobucket, and have found it easier just to use the upload image I described above. I don't have to upload to Photobucket, and then open another window to Toy Collector to upload pics. I can just upload them straight from my computer.
There are other ways to upload pics, this is the one that works best for me.

Also keep in mind, that if the files are too big, they will fail to upload and you'll get an error message. I don't know the limit size, but 1 mb is okay, 5 mb is not

Avoid special characters in filenames or upload will fail.

Oh, and one more thing: try to give your files non-generic names since, in the past, if somebody (or yourself) later uploads a file with the same name as yours, then that file will replace yours in the post!

Thank you for your explanation.
Here is a Berliet GAK beverage transport from the same collection.

I also change my previous pictures.

The beverage transport looks superb as well. This is really a series to look out for. Let's see what happens to the price levels once initial demands are filled. In my opinion this series is superior to most big-scale trucks on the market (that I know of, at least), beating the likes of Joal, NZG, Lion Cars etc. when it comes to detail. The others are heavier, yes, and probably a lot sturdier, since the Altayas contain a lot of plastic, but for sheer detail, this is fab.

I think they are very well detailled. There is sometime little mistakes.

If you have subscribed to this collection, you pay them 20.00 €.

Most of time, I pay 26 €.

I had to go back to the start of this thread and refresh my memory. There are some excellent images of those monster Berliets and after watching the the Tour De France I just wonder where they would be able to drive some of those awesome rigs apart in the Sarah Desert. Good to see that you are still collecting Stefho74 and nice picts.

These big T 100 were specially built for the petrol extraction in the Sahara.

Made in 1959, T100 3 is a 6x4 dump 155 tons of total weight with a bucket

Marrel of 50 m3

It was used in an open mine of uranium in France.

The T100 # 3 was destroyed in 1978.
