Always loved the Early Russian periods and just saw these figures from Strelets:

Anybody knows where I can get a Russian fortification from the period (I am just a lousy scratchbuilder)?

  Welcome
Joschik, can`t access picture for some reason, but assume these are the wooden stockade and towers and stakes, Chirta I think they are called.
Personally I would scratch build, its boring cutting lots and lots of Barbecue skewers, for the palisades and stakes. The towers are a little more complex, but a card template  with skewers stuck on will look the part.
There was an article by Ian Weekly on the subject, Practical wargamer I recall, but its in my chinese puzzle of an attic so can`t easily check date
Don`t know of a manufacturer, although the Zvesda range might give you a good starting point.

Hello Joschik
Yes, I recall seeing these wooden forts in catalogs made by Zvesda and sold by Squadron here in the US. They had the towers and gates. I have not seen them listed for about four years though though there must be some around somewhere.

Check out www.squadron.com I remember seeing several forts in the flyer, it\'s been a bit since I\'ve seen one in there, I really haven\'t been looking all that closely.
