SikuSteve, Welcome aboard. I am probably the offset, my large collection of toys are mostly American made except for my Dinky collection and a few recent purchases, that is within the last 5 years. Most of my toys are my originals from early 1950's forward, including those toys from my sons. Now, I restore and found a small nitch modifying some of the broken Dinkys. You will enjoy and like this group, every day is a true adventure............ again welcome. dinkyboy
Many thanks for the post. It must be rewarding restoring Dinkies. The only Dinky i remember having when i was a wee nipper was the Mack with bottom dump trailer with "pup" trailer. This was consigned to the bin complete with box ...thanks to my rather inconsiderate parents...rant over lol. Wish i still had that beast, might be worth a few bob!
SikuSteve, After I joined the Army, many of my Dinkys and others went to a cousin whom my mother believed would appreciate them. I do not think that was the end result, I never did see them again, sooooooo I know the feeling. But........ I did have a stash and many of those still remain with me now. Phew. Luckily mom did not know of all my storage locations. I have since replaced a many of what I had at now costly prices. My grandchildren now play with all of them.
