I have about 120 models now, in all different scales, the largerst are 1/12

If you want to see my complete collection, follow me on

I also have a youtube channel where every month I post a video of one of my 1/18 models, placed in a beautiful environment.

Haha they are awesome, thanks for sharing! I don't have one like this, but the youngest brother of my girlfriend has a 2CV made from Coca cola cans. pretty accurate those things.

Hello and welcome from Denmark. Glad you've found your way here and I'm sure you'll find lots of things of interest. If you're going to collect just one car brand, Citroën is probably the best possible of all. I don't think any other make is so well covered, right from the vintage days of Dinky, Corgi, Solido etc. up to the modern age of high tech models. Heck, both the Traction and the 2CV even have their own series!

I've taken a look at your website and you really have some great models in your collection, although it seems you've also encountered the classic problem of some cars only/mainly available as rally/racing versions. I find this really baffling - I mean, a company create a rally version of a certain car, so they basically have the mold, the have the licenses, the measurements, everything... why don't they do that little extra work and issue a street version like the one we see in our everyday life?

With Citroën, the overall coverage seems quite good, but the problem here appears to be the more recent models like the Xantia, Xsara, C2, C3, C4 and so on - it sounds crazy that you have to buy a model from China in order to get a current European car, but I'm really not surprised.

I have many Citroëns in my own collection, both old and new, some common and some not so common (like a CX from Verem, a GS from Politoys, a DS from Vitesse and a Visa from Cougar), more recent castings include both a Dyane and a GS from Ixo/Altaya - all in 1/43 scale. Because there are so many models to choose from no two collections will ever be alike... new models are constantly discovered, and I'm looking forward to discovering more of yours.

True! because there are so much of them it is impossible to keep up and collect them all. As I'm still a student I only have a budget of about 50 euro/month to buy new models.

for the moment I'm trying to complete my goal of having one 1/18 model of every Citroën made in this scale, whether it's racing or not. If I can I prefer non-racing models and non-emergency vehicles. for example the Citroën SM has been made by otto and norev, Otto did a marvelous job on their Racing model and Norev has is either with Police mods or normal. I want the normal one and I'm about 7 models short

like you said it's frustrating to see that the newer models are (not yet) covered and other models, like the Saxo, is only made in a limited edition. The mold is there, but most of the time there are huge differences between te Racing model and the everyday car. These molds are expensive as hell to make.

collecting wouldn't be as much fun if you could go to the store and buy everything at once, therefor I like idea's like limited editions by Otto or Models that have to be bought overseas. But it truly can be frustrating to know a model exist and not finding it for sale anywhere...

thanks for looking at "my page" btw

Welcome, there is a page on Citroen model cars in ToyPedia here, the ones that Citroen made for when you bought a big one some time back.  I hope that somebody comes up with a list of the models and photos since I would love to see some more of them (saw 3 in various Brocantes in France).

Welcome to the site from Western Canada, Felix. You have quite the blog going there and some really nice cars. Have fun here and post your Citroen's when you can.

I have  one of the tin can Citroen's and I believe they come from South Africa. I also have an Atlas Editions DS19 which is very nicely done in 1:43 scale.  I also have an Altaya and a Reo, both DS19's and both 1:43. That is my main Scale. I have a DY Dinky 1957 2CV also. I am also pretty sure I have a couple Hot Wheels and maybe a Matchbox or two as well in about 1:64 scale. Great Cars and you should have quite the large collection when you finally finish it up. If you can, that is.

Thank you all, the blog isn't finished yet, I have about 90 models yet to come, but as I'm in the middle of my examns I have to put them on one at the time.

@Nobleco I haven't got a lot of matchbox and majorette citroën (an XM, CX, Couple of DS) because they are quite hard to find without paying massive shipment costs. The DS you talked about from altaya, is it the Dinky reproduction?

I didn't realy like the model because the rough paintjob. furthermore the tires are to soft for the heavy model. but maybe that whas the case with all dinky back in the days... I have no authentic dinky yet, because they are realy expensive, or all messed up!

Hi,

Loved the blog on the Andre Citroen models, do you know the writer of it?  How many different models were made?  Please go ahead and add the link to the ToyPedia Citroen listing, it is so far the most appropriate link for that page.

I'll try to contact the owner and ask him whether I'm allowed to put it there. (or is that not necessary?) I don't know him, I did a little research about the subject and found his blogpage.

I have no idea how many models were made but they are frequently for sale on leboncoin.fr

You can always put up links without asking (and the blogger will love you for doing it).  I would be interested in getting him to help us document the Citroen models for ToyPedia which we would need to ask him for.
