Now i have a question for all you dinky collectors and parts suppliers. Ive been offered 2 dinky guy vans 1 is the spratts van and the others the ever ready van both have their original boxes now the sellers asking a fair price for both but im not 100% on the rear doors being original as one van doors as the letters L and R on them and the other van doesnt yet everything looks 100% i.e paint,decals, base, wheels,axles, tires etc. Does anyone know if the doors were ever produced with these letters on them or not.

Never seen the original doors with L and R markings on them, so they could be repro. Have you the chance checking the hinges and the pins of the doors?

tomte, I would say they were original doors on both vans. I have the 923 Big Bedford Heinz Beans van and the Pallet-Jecta Van and both of them are original and both of them have a small R or L on the inside of the doors. I have sold reproductions and I don't think they have the L or R on them but I can't be sure. Here is a picture of reproduction doors. You can see the slight pitting and the flash and extra materials. The original doors are a much better casting and should not show any roughness to the edges of the doors. Also the pins should look undesturbed and not extra pinched. The top should be a dome and the bottom should be a pinch. Hope this helps.
