Dublo Dinky No.069 - Variations. 1 year ago #1

A number of questions arose from my last topic relating to the number and type of variations of number 069 the Massey-Harris-Ferguson Tractor. It all seems to centre around the colour of the wheels and the radiator grill which was hiighlighted by other members. There was no box variation so it rests on the model.

Are these the variations:-

1. Plain grey wheels with a fine vane grill

2. Plain grey wheels to the front with light grey wheels to the rear and a fine vane grill

3. Plain grey wheels with a coarse vane grill

4. Plain grey wheels to the front with light grey wheels to the rear and a coarse vane grill

Were there more than two types of grill and any other differences??

We mustn't forget that this was the only DD to be issued in the Hornby Dublo railway system No.4649 and titled "Low Sided Wagon With Tractor". So if the above were applied to this that makes 8 variations in total. Phew!

Are there any more??

I have that Hornby rail car in my train set. I did not know it would have come with a tractor on top as a load. Learn something new every day. I have had the rail car since 1958 or 1959 and it is near mint

Good Morning RVREVO

This model was issued in one colour only - blue - but it did have a rear hook. However no model was ever issued for it to tow and there is a hole in the seat which one assumes is for a driver that was never produced!

In the late 1950's and the 1960's the Hornby Dublo railway truck was available without load or with white or brown container or two reals of cable (Liverpool cables) as well as the tractor.
