Here's where you can discuss all things Dinky; British, Chilean, French, Hong Kong, South African or from whereever! This is also the forum of the Dinky Toys Group

The jaguar XK 120 and the Rover 75. The real Jaguar is in the Louwman museum in the Hague (where the petrol pumps are).

I agree with Jan : it is one of the best collections I know, well worth a visit !!

Does anyone have a picture of the real Midland Mobile Bank or know more about it ?

I wish although I'll just have to settle for the cyberspace travel for the look see and this is not like being there and seeing all of those collections up front.

I did find this comic amusing though.

In the Gaydon Motor Museum I photographed the same Rover last week!

Except for the blue hubs my cream example of the Dinky shows a nice similarity!

Hi Jan Willem, outside, as a touristic camera, I use the handy Canon Powershot SX210IS (top picture, Rover in the Gaydon museum)

For the precise work at home I use the Canon EOS350D (mirror reflex, lower picture, of the Dinky Rover model)

I am quite happy with both of them! Regards, Jan

Another French American, the Dinky Toys no. 550 Chrysler 'Saratoga':

I should have the pink version for this comparison, but I simply have not. May be someone else can. The purple version is a bit scarcer if I'm not mistaken. Anyway, it never got the colour shown on the box (like some more French Dinky Toys in that period). It did not suffer much from our playing in the early 1960s, but the tyres are cracking a little bit.

Back to the real one: the wings could hardly be bigger, higher and sharper in that period, as proudly underlined in the advertisement below.

RVREVO, That had to be a great ride, it made an impression causing to have those Hovercraft toys and Airfix model.
They only seem to exist in UK museums, although the U.S. Military have programs using them regularly. dinkyboy

janwerner, I have no idea how this Chinese Six  photo got in your post, although I now realize one of your photos of a white (Rover) was in one of my 50 transports (not racing) post. The moderator removed that photo and I have seen it this evening twice above as you mentioned it as a picture taken at Gaydon museum. dinkyoyb

janwerner, I am reviewing in reverse order, and your reply to me included the Frazer - Nash, but as well included another picture of my Chinese Six in your post. Having mentioned this earlier as well as PM on the subject. Maybe replys were crossing and the "new TC" became cyperplexed ........? dinkyboy

Yes, dinkyboy, I noticed some days ago already that some photos got mixed up, whereas they were uploaded correctly and have remained correct for some time. Suddenly they were not in good order anymore and I saw the six-wheel Fodens in between. I don't know what happened, and I have no idea of how to repair ... Regards, Jan
