sorry guys, I have some trouble with the pictures and placing text with them. I have some nice pictures of cartransporters like the Dinky Pullmore Bedford, The Corgi Trideck, The Hoyner that goes with the AEC, The Carrimore that goes with the Scammell and Ford. The closed racing car transporter is the real thing that goes with the Matchbox King Size BP transporter. The Toleman Trader is witrh the Corgi Carrimore that goes with the 2 Bedfords. The last one is the Dinky France Boilot that goes with the Unic. This site is not that userfriendly as is come to placing pictures by computer nono's like i am. Thank for the Tip Gunner.
Cheers, Ron

I had trouble posting pictures when I first joined TC, and a hint given to me was to first post them to Photobucket, then to TC. I never have any issues with them now, and do not even have to downsize them. Photobucket is free and very easy to use.....so you might consider trying it. Those were interesting pictures that you did post...but they would be better posted with the Dinky Toy versions versions

Hi all, is was my experience with uploading puictures that it only worked without complications by using Mozilla Firefox. Nowadays Internet Explorer has the same result, although reshuffling photos in an album still seems to work out by using Firefox only.

In order to keep the same quality of the photo I reduce it myself to a maximum of 600 x 600 pixels, so that no automatic intermediary reduction will take place with loss of quality. But I'm a, as you call it, 'computer nono' myself.

I found another nice set of pictures for the Dinky Toys no. 697 25 Pounder Field Gun Set. Here they come:

Sometimes a little push will help winning the war!

It seems that the cross-like roof cover is a kind of tent, a very flimsy protection! Others may be able to explain.

I notice on the 25 pounder and Morris Quad being given a bit of a push in the mud by the gun crew while the drag ropes hang on the front of the gun shield. Been there done that.

rplanken, if you have MS office then you have a simple photo editor in Picture Manager. You should find it under Office Tools in your main Office folder. That is what I use and it is easy to edit. I use about 800 x 600 or 800 x 500 depending. You can also just resize them to Document large 1024 x 768 or small 800 x 600. The latter is what I use. You can also make them sized for the Web or for emails.

You can also use Photo Bucket as like Terry says, it will resize the photos for you when you upload them to Photo Bucket and then you can choose what size you want to put on this site or other sites. Thumbnails or full size pictures. It also gives you the advantage of clicking on the photo which takes you to your Photo Bucket pages so you can see all the pictures you have in that folder. Say for example a restoration.

Hope this helps.

Dinky Toys no. 51g 'Btitannic' (model 1934-1941, real one 1930-1960) was the last ship to bear the colours of the Titanic (White Star Line).

How is the metal fatigue going with the 51 g being pre-war or was yours manufactured after the war there Jan.

Hi GunnerJim, yes, there is fatigue on this model (they were made pre-war only). There is a small part in the port hull side, near the string, missing and a minor crack is visible (see red circles). Before I had this copy I had a Britannic model that one wouldn't dare to touch because of fragility.

Thanks Jan yes it is a bit sad to see them go this way. Mighty fine ships in their day.

Hi all,
Let's see if I succeed to publish anything today. Have been impossible the last couple of months due to some strange technical problem.

I forgot to use my resizing program. I use BMP lite. Very easy to use. Choose all pictures at once or selected pictures. I will try it later this weekend. with a lot of pictures of cartransporters.

That's a very nice example, thank you dinkyman!

That is, the handles are missing ...

Kind regards, Jan

Thank you. The handle was an option that could be ordered separately.
