Hi all, I would like to suggest to fill this thread with pictures of Dinky Toys together with their real-world counterparts. Of many Dinky Toys it is easy to find the prototypes, but of as many Dinky Toys it is rather complicated to trace the 1:1 vehicle which was modelled. Any other information about the model-prototype relation would be appreciated as well!

I'll make a start in order to have an idea:

Those are great and it is nice to see the real vehicles. Don't get to see them over here in North America.

Dinky Toys 1959 Dodge Royal Sedan, #191

And the real car.

This one is a 1958 I believe so could be a closer match for the Dinky Toy.

cars are easier, but purpose build trucks are a bit more of a challenge.

For instance the very unusual TK Bedford converted by Jones Fleetmaster with the crane operation deck from the cabin was very real.

Heya Jim, take a look at the RL Coles Crane Truck... it has a trailer... Dinky made these trailers too. But does the Dinky truck have a towhook???

Dinky 'Mersey Tunnel' Land Rover proves to be difficult to find.

Dinky Daimler Ambulance is much easier.
