I suppose that would work too. I do have pop rivets but tend to shy away from them for base rivets. They might work very well for suspension attaching.

I did go to town last week and get another eyelet kit.  Cost was about $2.00 after tax for about 2 dozen of them. Comes with a leather punch for making the hole and a set tool for turning over the one end. No anvil though like the larger eyelets have. I wonder why.

I have finally found the time for finishing this ugly duo. They now look very respectible, if I do say so myself. Here they are one at a time and then together.

Still need to paint the driver. I am using a cast driver for the 100 series touring cars like the Packard and Cadillac.

Next the Caravan, #117 with clear roof. Had to remake the floor carpet (lino?) out of blue paper. Not an exact match but works for me.

Not happy with the suspension, now that it is assembeled. It is very week and the weight of the trailer makes it ride flat. On the bottom all the time.

Car works great with new suspension and it even turns. So did not need to cut slots like Terry?? suggested. Very good Idea though and will use it next time. Would make this care turn much more easy.

Enjoy

Nobleco,  I promised eyelets if I could get them. All my hardware store has are the large for repairing tents and dinning-flies for rope use. Sorry. I am still looking...

Well that caravan could be overloaded with lotsa Moose or Blue for the lake and back woods trip.........

     URgonnafixitaren'tya?

Imagine me, telling the EXPERT how to, but then......

Try drilling and taping and then those button heads like I use. It allows for the assemble and disassemble repeated to fit and/or fix. I have some button heads with the correct drill bit and the tap if you need = 6-32 black anodized. Let me know.

....otherwise, I love Bentleys, and this combo " LOOKS FACTORY TO ME"

Thanks guys, these two were a mess when I got them, for sure. Just been very busy with outside work this summer so have not finished up too many models. These were both fun to do but the suspension I did not know about until it was finished. The only hard part was filing and sanding the pins for the caravan door so they would fit the holes in the casting. I even drilled out the holes on the side of the door so the pins would have a bit more meat to them. The top window unit has some marks on it too so will think about getting a new one over the winter sometime and fix the suspension then. Poping the rivets out is not a problem as they usualy come out fine.

Dinkyboy, your right, I will fix it but not right away. Too many army toys to do now. Had the wrong paint but that has been corrected to have about 5 or 6 Army toys to do now.
