Here we go just to see how many Dinky Toys stand alone photos I have in my collection. Looks like most of my Dinkies are mixed with other makes for comparison examinations and this in itself will not do as they must be just dinky.

Above is the Anti Aircraft gun on a trailer No 161b came out in 1939 rendition while the post war number was 690 1974 and was replaced by the Scorpion Tank with the same number 690.

The Mighty Antar Tank Transporter without the windows Number 660 arrived on the scene in 1956. The Centurion Tank Number 651 entered the toy world in 1954.  Just love those Mighty Antars. Australia only ever imported two of these and they were used on the Snowy Mountain Hydro scheme in the early 1950's carting heavy plant for the generation.

The Cooker Trailer Number 151c was released onto the retail market in 1937. It is a wonder this Dinky isn't in bits and pieces as inter-crystalline corrosion had taken hold of it. The 6 Wheeled Wagon Thornycroft Number 151b was also somewhat in a bad state of affairs. Marvelous what some cyanoacrylates can do when rubbed into those cavities and sanded back the primed and painted thus keep the air out of the failing zinc.

Have a couple of these US Army Jeeps Number 672 in different state of repairs while some are missing some of those easy to loose some of these items. Pity I'll have to get some replacement parts one day. The trailer is the one that came out with the Land Rover.

The Army Wagon Number 623 Bedford QLR 4x4 towing the 5.5 inch BL Medium Gun Number 692. The other is the Medium Artillery Tractor Number 689 showing a good rendition of the Leyland Martin FV1119 10 ton tractor. and is towing the 7.2 Howitzer Number 693 which in reality was an American made Howitzer in real life. When I was very young I belonged to a 5.5 inch Gun Crew also had crewed on 25 ponder for training purposes only.

6 wheeled covered wagon Number 151b The First World War Thornycroft truck really only had 4 wheels and not 6. Yes this one has been repainted and a handmade canopy to boot.

The Honest John rendition of the Cold War the world just had to have including the Berlin Wall which has now been pulled down in Germany. Somewhat battle scared the Number 665 Honest John Missile Launcher still works.

Those lovely Dinky Super-Toys 20 ton Lorry Mounted Cranes Number 972 and one these has been fully restored.

And the finish result.

Left Shadow 2 Mobile Number 353 1971 and a repainted Centurion Tank Number Number 651 1954.

6 Wheeled Covered Wagon 25s produced in catalogue  in 1937 in civilian colours.

Dodge Rear Tipper Wagon Number 414 arrived on the scene 1954. Purchased on eBay as is had been painted by someone.

Field Gun Set Number 697 includes Morris Quad Tractor 687, limber trailer 686 & 25 pounder 686, issued 1957.

Set 617 That has Volkswagen KDF & PAK 50 mm anti tank gun

105mm Howitzer Number 609 minus its gun crew

Number 692 5.5 BL Gun

Number 693 7.2 Howitzer USA WW2 issue.

Number 686 25 pounder Field Gun

Number 625 Six pounder Gun Anti Tank came with 2 plastic sprues of shells in a bubble pack.

PAK 40 mm Anti Tank Gun.

Number 698 Leopard anti Aircraft Tank

Number 692 Leopard Tank alongside the Anti Aircraft defence systems tank.

Number 656 88mm Anti Aircraft gun and could be used in anti tank and other artillery support roles. Does come with wheel carriages as well.

Number 961 blaw Knox Bulldozer formerly 561 came out in 1954 yes I had one. Now I have two too.

Number 963 Blaw Knox Heavy tractor formerly 563.

Number 660 Tank Transporter (Mighty Anta) with centurion tank.

Code 3 191 Dodge Royal Sedan. Has had new windows with vacuum formed vinyl roof stuck on over the plastic window part and painted with new tyres. Was a real wreak that is for sure like no roof at all.

Number 170 Ford Fordor Saloon has been repainted. Should have been named Single Spinner Ford Custom. Like what we called them in Australia.

The 161a has been rejuvenated by me with new searchlight and tyres supplied by Noblico

Actually Nobilco supplied the new string hook decals for this re-build renovation Code 3.

Number 582 Pullmore Car Transporter Bedford. Code 3 by me.

Must get around to making those decals. Lazy fella I am I am. First I have to get that clear decal paper and I do have it on my to do list somewhere.

And my last is my prized item the Dinky Mighty Antar Conversion or Code 3. Looks like I might have to do some catching up with my Dinky Collection as there are some pictures yet to take. So don't go away we will be back. Gunner Jim.

Some more of the civilian trucks and cars that I have in Dinky Toys. Actually the red Austin No 30j or 412 on the left is sort of a Code 3. When I picked it up at a swap meet the bloke sold it to me for $2. The right hand side roof and A pillar was just about touching the wast rail area of the body. No grill and headlights as that is a replacement part from UK and the bumper is off some plastic toy. The roof was annealed back by heating and tapping with a slender type bootmaker's hammer. By resting the roof on a sand bag and tapping away I was able to rectify to collapsed roof. The seller could not believe his eyes when I showed the final results. He reckons its another truck. The other is the orange Bedford End Tipper No 25m or is it the 410 later model release. I suppose one would have to have the original box to be sure.

The Commer Breakdown Lorry No 25x or is it 430. Don't know either as it has been painted and has a home made jib on the rear end. I just can't help myself sometimes.

Now these two renditions haven't been changed by yours-truly. Forward Control Lorry either a No 25r or the 420 while the gray Bedford rigid flat tray is a Dublo.

These two have had a bit of a touch up The Chevrolet Impala No 57/002 made in Hong Kong has had a hard life while the Nash Rambler No 173 was in similar condition.

Austin Atlantic No 106 Estate Wagon No 27f and Superior Criterion Ambulance No 263

I don't know how long that I have had the Frazer Nash BMW Sports Car No 38a but it is a very long time now. Another Chevrolet Impala although this one has more paint on it than the one I painted. Guess it will stay that way.

Thats it chaps until I come across some more I guess.

Hi Gunner,

Just to say that the 25 s /151 b six wheel wagon is not a Thornycroft but a Karrier type WO6. The original is a 10 wheeler.

The 410 Bedford end tipper are marked 410 under the tipping part at the rear.

The 25 x Commer has a slot on the left side of the chassis for a tipper crank. This has been filled in for the 430.

The 420 Leyland is almost a Dublo at 1/72 scale.

I like your aussi Mighty Antar wrecker very much.

I thank you kindly Dinkycollect for your valuable knowledge on those particular Dinkys that you have pointed out to me.  I have searched to no avail to find out if Thornycroft had made a three axle GS vehicle. Yes I found that they made did make the forward control 6x4 but not the long bonnet designed cab like the J series of the WW1 period. I have two books on early truck manufactures although there is some pictures coverage but not all models they had made are depicted.  Although they do write about the likes of Thornycroft and even Karrier bit of history. I have found some pictures of  Karrier 3 axle DD6 that were used for bus building but haven't come across the actual Karrier WO6 version. I would dearly like a picture of the WO6 for interest sakes for this topic.

My question is does the Six Wheeled Covered Transport Wagon have the number casted in the Number 620. If there is no number then would this Dinky be the 151b as I cannot find any number casted into the body of the Six Wheeled Covered Transport Wagon above.

Dinkycollect my next question is on the Bedford End Tipper Number 410. If there is no number could it then be the Number 25m.

the Ford D looks a little empty without the plough, doesn't it?

Is it me or is the Euclid a little pale?

Re: Audit Some of my Dinky in my Picture Gallery. 2 years, 1 month ago #12

Hello Richard. Looks like Dinky had produced three Ford D 800 Tipping Trucks in that particular design. The first being the one with the opening doors, Number 438, then the Snow Plough attachment on the front of the tipper Number 439 followed by the Ford D 800 Tipper Truck with no front cab doors opening like in the first two renditions, Number 440.

Yes, the Euclid does look a little bit sickly or pale yellow creamy colour, maybe it has been in the sun far too long, I really don't know.

Jim, turn it over and look under the box. If it is also this creamy yellow then that is the mix they used that batch lot. I have one here, original, and it is darker. I repainted one for a customer and it is primrose yellow, just like the Pullmore transporter I have posted in Code 3 section and have on eBay at the moment, I think the Pallet-Jecta Cab and Van body also have the same color besides the orange/yellow.

Thanks for that Jim. I just took the Euclid out into the warm Autumn morning Sun and had a real good look through my new reading glasses in natural light and the colour appears to be same all over. Which is good to know it is really to do with the batch colour. Thanks Mate.

Ya, the only other way is to take it apart or try to look inside the windows or fenders. Hard to do on some models. Ones with beds, buckets or other parts on top usually have non faded parts underneath that were out of direct sun and therefore did not fade, or at least not as fast. Color batch is most likely if the color is consistent through out the model. Glad it helped
