Just to reconfirm that the March release will be a reproduction of the rare 551 Ford Taunus Polizei in green and white, madeexclusively for theGerman market between 1965/67. So I am sure initial stocks of this mode lwill dissapear very fast

I have just spotted on Google, An item that was posted on Facebook two months ago, a poor copy from Atlas promoting an introdutionary offer copyy of the Dinky 197 Morris Mini Minor in Dark Green, complete with keyring and paperwork similar to the french range. Since I cannot find any further information, Was this a one off or will this be the first of the long awaited british range yet to be released.

Dear gradon,

When you refer to an eBay advert or other similar post, please always state the address of the post so that any one can see it or better copy the picture and text to this forum.

In July 2010 Atlas U.K. issued a Mini Cooper under the ref. 36 in a very limited issue. Unfortunately I have not been able to get one as this is the worst thing Atlas has done.

A red Mini with racing number 36 was packed in a counterfeit DINKY TOYS yellow box. Ah ah !

Is the one you have seen on Google the same in British racing green ?

Hi Maoford,

The article I am refering to has been picked up by Google which is on page two under Atlas Dinky, The article was originally placed on Facebook on 28/01/12 by Maidenhead Static Model club of whom tried to order the said model.

Who then had an official update from Atlas UK on the above date by snail mail.

In the letter, An extract reads and I quote,

 Unfortunately, at the moment we are unable to fullfill your request. We have decided to make further improvements to this product in order to ensure that our products are always to the highest standards and to meet your requirements for quality and complete satisfaction.;

Firstly these will be entirely new models and I do not think they can be confused  with any mini produced for Atlas before. Also the Atlas reply letter  was a delay tactic as the original flyer was probably released far too early before the range is due to be released this spring

Gradon,

Thank you for the information. Here is the link :

It seems that for the second time Atlas is messing up the launch of this collection.

Looks nice, but that is an intro offer so maybe a separate range for the UK models maybe.

After recently recieving last months model, the 551 Ford Taunus Polezei and finding it a very attractive model. I am noticing through the french forums that it is still proving very ellusive through subscription buyers. Whilst I am sure the modelwill be one on high demand including on Ebay. I can assure you its well worth the wait.

Ihave also noticed this morning, the  first  annoucements of what this (April) months model will be. This is the 564 Renault Estefette Glaziers van in Red. This is again  contary to any listing  schedule made although be it skipping only one model. This confirms to what I have learnt over the last year is never presume what the next model will be until it has been announced.

Thank you for the info, this model is not very original, it is only a variation of the Estafette ref 563 issued exactly two years ago.

This is probably the result of the financial difficulties of both Atlas and Norev.

I have noticed that the last model, the Taunus was not packed as carefully as the previous models, no transparent paper around the box and no paper around the model. Will Atlas provide the next models without a yellow box ?

Hi,

Not only am I reconfirming that indeed the 564 Renault Estafette Glaziers van of which is true, the very similar pick-up was modelled two years ago. The glaziers van was nether or lless still a very important model in the original Dinky range. So surely this model justifies being in the range.

I have also discovered through reliable information that due to the success of the Atlas Dinky range, It will be further extended by another 15 models, taking it to 75 and the final model planned will be the Peugeot 504 Cabriolet with functional direction operated by the flywheel and as I am now talking years ahead. When will time come before they decide to extend the range further.

I also like to add mt theory on the lack of packing on the recent Ford Taunus. I just wonder one possible answer is that the model is made by a different factory as with most other model brands, Norev do not actually make their models. They simply have a choice of independant factorys of which they have to book a production slot to produce the models, Hence this is why sometimes delays do occour.

The availability of factories in China is overwhelming to say the least including those industries who are involved in modelling design and tooling the dies for the customer. Some of them can even supply their most up-to-date die-casting machines that are computer controlled. Once programmed they just keep on producing including replenishing the Zamac ingots by robotisation.

Salut Gradon,

As-tu reçu ton Estafette ? On est déjà le 17 et la mienne n'est pas encore arrivée.

Ta théorie sur le manque de cellophane autour de la Taunus est peut-ëtre correcte, sauras-t-on jamais ?

Hi Dinkycollect,

Firstly please accept my apoligies for taking so long in replyiing to your french letter of which I managed to translate.

Since february last year I have managed to purchace the first 46 models of the Atlas Dinky range including the recent very hard to find Ford Taunus Polezei, of which I managed to purchace at a very respectable price of 35.00 Euros oan buy it now sale on Ebay, Lately they have been selling for double the price on the few occasionsthey do appear.

So far as yet I been unsuccessfull with the Renault Estafette Glaziers van as they have been reaching a too higher price than I am prepared to pay for. Maybe the price will settle down in a couple of months time as what has happened with the chevrolet and before.

By the way I have managed to purchace all my models from Ebay, Since firstly I live in the UK making it very difficult to subscribe. Also I have noticed subscibers are having problems recieving their models.

Finally I have recieved from reliable notice the next months release will be the 24z Simca Versailles, as for the colour, this is yet to be disclosed.

Just to confirm the model released for next month (May), not only will be the Simca Versailles, It will be issued in yellow and black roof and according to the picture seen, the yellow will be of a deeper shade

Also, I  wonder if anyone can answer a little niggle I have.  This is when these models are released. a large number of people immediatly list them on a well known international auction website, this is okay but a large number of them list these models at low prices only for the french home market. As the market is limited, They then sell them at low prices. Whilst although the models placed on the much larger international maket, quickly rise to a high price, more than I want to pay.

Surely it would be more beneficial for more sellers to take the plunge and sell internatioally so it would be a fairer market for one and all.

The other problem I have is a lot of models sold, do not have the attached paperwork, Surely the paperwork is part of the item and be sold together!
