Mostly, the only plastic tires I have are Matchbox. Just like the original hard black and grey tires. The Dinky and Corgi and Spot-On and Minic tires I sell are rubber, not plastic. The only plastic in those brands would be where Dinky used plastic, Dublo wheels for example. Aircraft wheels are cast metal for most if not all and some of the dolly wheels for the caravans are plastic as are some hubs as Dinky did that too.

I don't know of tires in the 15mm and up sized that are plastic made for Dinky. At least I have never seen any listed or in real life.

Thanks for this Jacque. I did not know about this but then I don't have but a few French Dinky Toys and none of them have any of these tires. Maybe the first 2 from the left in you top photo but they look rubber from here.

Yes the two on the left are rubber.

The reference number 837 did not apply to a specific type of tyre but to the 15 mm diameter which has been the standard for many years for most Dinky Toys.

This month model is the Volvo 122 S isued in a dull cream white. I must say that I am not facinated by this model from Liverpool which should not have been part of this collection of French Dinky.

Back to a model issued in December 2008 in the wrong colour as is often the case with Atlas.

There were two different boxes for this model. The early boxes were small as they did not contain the heat shaped packing piece. The drawing on the side showed a shadow of the car.

The re-ssues were larger, provided with the plastic packing piece and there was no shadow of the car.

If somebody has this box and the reference number is different, could he post a similar large picture with the other number.  ?

Thanks.

Whilst I fully agree the recently released Volvo as with the other 5 Liverpool based models should be left to fit in with the forthcoming British range to be released later this year of which the starting date is yet to be confirmed. I think would it be possible teir fete was already decided before the idea of the british range was decided. Afterall both the Volvo and the Kapitan where both released in limited numbers a year ago in the northern markt and its only now they have been included into the main range. Afterall the Volvo is still a european car.

Whilst I am still on line. Is the British range still going to be released this year and if sowhat will be included in the range and how will they be marketed?

I have noticed this morning, the first Chevrolet Corvair complete with all the paperwork has appeared on Ebayin a very unusual colour scheme, Err. Light Blue. Are the comany paint stocks limited? Also it appears the monthly release time scedule has moved to mid month,Is this permanent or tempory? Alas I think only tme will. Still the crvair looks Great.

I can't comment on the Corvair, but I had a wait of almost 2 months for my second model (the 558 Citroen 2CV) to arrive, so it's not unlikely that Atlas are indeed shuffling their schedules. The next one is due to be shipped in 2 days.

Hi Gradon.

The colour of the model for sale on

cgi.ebay.fr/DINKY-TOYS-552-Chevrolet-Cor...;hash=item35b948c541

seems correct. Of course one has to wait until one can put the original and the copy side by side to make sure that the colour is correct.

I have also noticed that the Atlas Dinky are coming earlier and earlier. Is Atlas trying to save one month to make quick cash ?

I think I can remember but correct me if I am wrong , but in December 2010 , Did Atlas release both the Beetle and the Ford Vedette within the same month period. Also the new scedule could be one or both reasons. First the last two models had already been produced and only just put on general release. The other reason could be they are moving schedules  to make room for the new Britis releases, Again time will only tell.

These are the dates when I received the Atlas models. It is in September 2011 that two models were delivered.

For the Corvair, we do not know yet as the model on eBay is from the Netherlands and the time table there is different from the French one. So wait and see what comes and when.

The Corvair was delivered yesterday February 14.

The difference in colour is due to the light as these are two different pictures of the same model. The best colour is the one on the rear view.

I think I can certainly confiirm,  after several days one solitary corvair was advertised on Ebay,  the model is now on general release, at at least ten more have appeared on Ebay, with sellers not only in Northern Europe, but France as well. The final colour is in the lighter blue,I think. Also would I be right in thinking, next months model be the Ford Taunus in Polezei livery?

Hi Gradon,

Sorry, I have no idea about the next model. There are rumours about the Polizei Wagen but this is not confirmed yet. I will keep you informed if I get any info.

So here we are, On the first day of March and I have already seen the first pictures of this model including the box and in fact indeed are that of the 551 Ford Taunus in Polizei livery. An interesting addition and also proving they are coming out earlier and earlier. Could it be at last Atlas are getting their house in order.
