TOPIC: foden

Erwin, first off, you should only check the box to subscribe to a thead if you want to be notified of a post in that thread. It is at the bottom of the Reply box. There used to be a section in the first version of TC where you could go see all your posts and then unsubscribe to as many or all of them if you want.

I don't know where the list of topics with the unsubscribe all check box went to. Maybe Admin knows.

As a Global Moderator I get all posts off the site. I have to uncheck the Subscribe button each time I post a message in a thread or I will get 2 emails for each post. As you navigate thru the treads, look at the bottom left side. You should see Unsubscribe in the box. If so, you are subscribed to that thread. Click that box if you want to unsubscribe to the thread. You can always find it in Latest Posts.

I am hoping that soon we will have it divided up so you can go see all of your own posts or all posts that you have replied to. It would be nice to just search the Posts I started and not all the posts I have commented on. Hopfully it will be sorted soon.

Nobleco, You do not have to check the SUBSCRIBE BOX. If you post a comment it happens automatically. But.... with your reply and comments, I have figured it out. After leaving the post, original or reply, click on UNSUBSCRIBE and that takes care of it.
I spent some time last evening going through all the topics I participated in, and unsubscribed. Wahla. The e-mail was empty and my bride is pleased. Thanks Jim.

   I asked reciprocle regarding facebook.

   Happiness at the homestead.

Is there a spell check included across the top input toolbox when making a post, I could not find it. If not, can we have one installed, my spelling is bad.  dinkyboy

I uncheck the box each time I post. I don't have the time to do it later so do it as I post.
As to spell checker, I have mentioned it numerous times over the years and I too would like to see it back. It was there along with the HTML code button Richard likes, in the first incarnation of TC.
Glad you got it all straight now.
Don't you and your bride have seperate email accounts??? YOU should have. That way you won't infuriate here with your TC mail and visa versa on the Facebook junk.

Erwin, my service provider, Shaw Cable, gives me 7 email addresses with my account. I have three of them for my businesses and my personal emails. My wife has one, my daughter and my son both have one each and I have a spare I use from time to time. I make that for contests or other things of a temporary nature. I am not sure about other providers or your provider but if you look into it I bet you can have a few email accounts under your plan. Call them up and ask. That way you and your bride can both have the same account, as it sounds you do now, but you can start up one for your Toy Collector and other site emails to keep them seperate. Just a thought.

Jim,
Thanks for the info. and I too unsubscribe now after each post.

As you know, my life has been on the high side of technical for many years and my mind has down loaded a lot now that I have not been tasked or required to maintain that stuff, Or so I thought.

I still get calls and visits from half way across the country, guys and gals "dropping in" and preparing for a review and once again into the throws I go, helping them through simple thought process' and review preparation. It seems to work because they always call afterwards with a  favorable results report. Of course! "Keep it simple......." Basics.

............so with that in mind, my bride and I decided we only need one account, keep it basic, no overload and keep it simple........ It works.

Sorry to be so wordy and off the topic. dinkyboy
