I know the feeling Richard and I know that Jim will be able to fix ixtis1965 up with these parts which would be more reliable that is for sure.

Must admit I have never contemplated using Recovertoy

Some time ago I looked at their site for some 666 missile parts mainly missile bodies, the cost was so high as to be ridiculous, considering that I eventually bought a 1 Mtr length of 1/2 inch polylthene water pipe from a plumbers supply company for half the cost of a 6 inch piece, from them.

Exactly then there has been the times when some of the parts ordered are lost in fruitition.

Finally got the scammell and trailer and dozer, been after one for ages only the asking prices were over £10 got this one for £7.50

didnt really want the massey ferguson tractor but it was with the curtis wright dumper worth a £2 punt

The laing crane needs a wire and hook will have to have a word with Jim, got that for £1.99p have two now the other I got for 99p but it is really only a spare parts donor as the gib damper is missing as well as the hook, overall I paid only slightly less in postage as I did for the trucks C'est la Vie

Why would you want a wire for the Laing crane? As far as I remember the hook is just a fixed plastic one. There's no winding gear on this one. Oh, and by the way: well done on the score, they look nice!

I know that it is a plastic piece with the hook on the end. but in the parts list it is called a wire, don't suppose that they could think of another descriptive name

My catalogue says there is a hook for the Scammell Crane Truck #K-12b and there is white plastic rope for hook for the same truck. The hook is the same hook used on the K-12a Heavy Breakdown Truck. Also used on the K-14a Jumbo Crane,  and the K-2c Scammell Heavy Wreck Truck.

that would be the white tube thingee

That would be correct

ofcourse the next problem will be the rivet that holds it in place.

As the eyelets are very thin too much pressure may break them.

Just use a Made in China wire bullet head brand nail as they are so sooo soft for the home made type rivet that can be tapped flat after a crimp off with a pair of wire cutters.

last time I bought parts from Recovertoy nothing arrived.

then his site disappeared.

That was 40 bucks well spent

I had the same problem with this guy ,he said the parts were coming after 3months I hounded the crap out of him and got a refund!

He,s around again Richard as you can see by Gunners pic but Recover Toy US, your order will still be there get your refund mate he will pay up.

Doh!

I have seen them with a bit of wire replacement hanging on the end of the jib too. Never mind cable, wire or plastic it doesn't matter.

paid £1.75 for this, this morning in really good condition for price probably replace decals on the trailer

The grill is missing from the tractor, can't find that as a replacement part in catalogue, I also cant find a picture of the front so i am not too sure what it should look like to fabricate a replacement, .

Picture please, or a grill would be nice, the front is not distorted I did not shut the Bonnet/Hood properly
