Hello to everyone viewing the tips and hints section. I have made a couple short videos of how to turn over the ends of Dinky and Corgi axles. I have used the Dinky 170 Ford Fordor sedan I am doing for a client. Two short videos that you may find helpful. They are also in the Restorers group.

Jim--
Excellent video on peening the axle end....great hint and demonstration......a little clue as to why your restores always come out so well!

I am still learning this video thing and hope to do more. Just have to convince the wife to let me buy a vid cam so I can do it proper. My Sony camera only does 1:28 worth of video. Richard is working on a remake of these for me. Should be good.

I'm impressed how skilled and fast you hammer around in a circle like that.

Those are some actions that will stay.

For me it is the way I get the effect I want. I just don't do much slow.

Hey Jim! Your technique reminds me of my US Navy days. We used to BORROW a spoon from the mess deck. We then made rings out of US coins,by POUNDING on them FOR DAYS! The spoon was facing down. You then drilled out the center. I know.....destruction of Government property. You can get bored after 30 days at sea!

Cool Marty. Nice to hear about some one else having to bang on the drum
all day, so to speak. I bet you can get bored at sea for that length of
time cuz your not on duty 24 7 for sure.
