Compared to other books, this one comes in a much smaller format, making it a nice companion for fairs. I enjoyed the pictures - they reminded me with my own childhood, spent along this never-aging icon. The outfits are really stunning.
However, the price guide is a bit confusing, since it plainly lists the items, without giving an emphasis on categories. You have to go through various pages until you find the item you are looking for. It also does not provide a closer descriprion of the doll (e.g. accessories). But I suppose that it would be off the scope for such publication, since then it would become too long and overwhelming.
All in all, solid publication - if you need just a quick overall view on the world of Barbie and her companions, Barbie Doll Field Guide will do the job.
