This is my first doll book review so I apologise for being tough, but this is really no book for collectors. It only has 40 A5 pages and skims the surface. It has chapters on English Dolls, German Dolls, French and Italian Dolls, American Dolls, Japanese and Chinese Dolls and for caring of dolls mentioning even Sindy. The images are not bad.
I suggest this is only worthwhile if you just want to start collecting or collect something else and like to get a faint idea.

This is a nice history book on Merrythought. It starts at the very beginning and then has chapters on all important periods in the life of this brand. Pat is well known in bear circles and has written lots of articles, including as Editor of Hugglets Teddy Bear magazine and four other books (which I plan to review here later). The book has a lot of interesting facts and background stories and completes the more catalogue approach of "The Magic of Merrythought" (despite the similar title this has been written by a differnent author).

This is an attempt to catalogue the Merrythought product range from its beginning and is as such unique. Since the book has been written in the late 80s it stops there and has only a few colour photos (and a lot of Black and White ones). IT is a good resource to the range and an ideal companion of the "More Merrythought Magic" book that I have also reviewed (despite being from a different author).
